DeSean Jackson: What will he bring?

Jackson is rediculously fast and was a big time playmaker at University of Cal. I would be surprised if he did not play on special teams as the kick returner and punt returner. But there is still a question that lingers in my head. Will he be placed in the slot at wide receiver from day one? I would love to see him get on the field and make plays from the slot. This is given we do not aquire another receiver, which I still think we pull some type of deal a lot like the Donte Stallworth deal back in 2006. If we were to aquire another receiver the lineup would most likley be that receiver, Reggie Brown, and Kevin Curtis in the slot. But even if we do pick up another receiver does DeSean Jackson see offensive playing time?

I think DeSean is going to be primary kick off returner and punt returner. In this role I think he would be must effective. Just like JR reeds rookie year. He gave the Eagles great field position giving them a short field to work with. If he can accomplish that and learn a reasonable part of the O-fence as either an end or a slot guy. I would consider this a good first year in the NFL

I agree I think Jackson will be the return specialist his first year with the Eagles. Then he would have more time to adjust to the playbook and he wouldn't have as much pressure on him. I think he might get some offensive playing time on plays like a reverse or as a number four receiver.

One thing I do know is that Andy will try to get him the ball in some open space

reid will probably waste him on the bench this year like he always does!!!!

I think he's going to see a lot of time if he can do in the NFL what he did in college. Andy knows we need a kick-off and punt returner and DeSean seems to be the answer, but we have to see what he can do on this level.

I think there's no doubt that DeSean will be Kick and Punt Returner. But I'm not sure about his role in the offense. Like fbkid said, he'll probably be on the field for some gadget-plays, but that's it. He has to make big strides in Training Camp to be our man in the slot.

I think later in the season he could see alot of time. Plus, I heard that they are designing packages and plays meant just for Desean like screen passes or reverses.

the birds need to change from the way they have done things in the past(red shirting rookies) and get this guy some playing time,he needs to have some type of impact this year or once again this offense will strugle in the red zone

i dont think we are going to strugle in the redzone this year. rember we have something we didnt last year 2 good healthy TE.

He is gonna make an impact on the special teams as he will on the offense because he is quick and he will burn defenders and that will open up other recievers if not himself

He's going to bring that kind of Westbrook excitement. Everytime he touches the ball, you never know, he could take to the house. Can't wait, I respected what Reno did back there for us, holding it down and all. But even Reno knew he wasn't going more then 10 yards at best. As far as recieving is concerned, I'm not sure how much of an impact at first, I mean the Eagles offense including almost all the recievers with the exception of Jason Avant and Hank Baskett aren't very big but we'll see. Should be fun!

''It's time to seal the deal''.We have to much talent not to.
