Denver Broncos should draft an explosive returner

Everyone knows that having an explosive returner, whether on kickoffs or on punts, is very important in today's game. A returned TD can change the whole face of a game and maybe a season. In the Broncos case, it did.

The Broncos had just won a key AFC game against the Titans, where a Glenn Martinez punt return TD sparked the Broncos to that victory. Yes, that one play help Denver get on track and play a great game. But then next week, the Broncos got that same thing handed to them when Devin Hester returned a kick and a punt for TDs. Denver never recovered from that and went on to lose 4 of the last 5 games because of two returns. And that's how important it is for Denver to draft a player like that, one who can change a whole season with returns for TDs.

This is not the Broncos first priority in the draft, but it would help a lot if they did draft one player of this type. Two players that come to my mind are Chris Johnson of ECU and Eddie Royal of Virginia Tech. Both can change the course of a game in an instant. Johnson is figured to be a 2nd to 3rd round pick, while Royal is figured somewhere in the 5th to 6th. If Denver has a shot at either player in a round other than the first, I think it should be a position that they should address because of the athletic ability of these two players. In addition to helping the special teams, Johnson as a RB and Royal as a WR can contribute in those aspect and give the offense that extra factor that teams need to account for.

So in all ways, this would be a definite win-win for the Broncos if they decide to go this way. Go Broncos!
