Eagles defensive coordinator Johnson doesn't feel backed into corner

IF YOU THINK Jim Johnson is fretting about how he's going to deal with the Eagles' crowded cornerback situation, well, guess again.

"I look forward to it every day," the defensive coordinator said. "I'll tell you what: It's like having two Big Browns in the Kentucky Derby. [When] I walk out there, I see Lito [Sheppard], I see Asante [Samuel], I see Sheldon [Brown]. It's good. Those are good players.''

No one questions the level of their talent. Sheppard has been to two Pro Bowls. Samuel has been to one and has notched 16 interceptions over the last two seasons. Brown is a solid 4-year starter who hasn't missed a game in six NFL seasons. Throw in underrated Joselio Hanson and you may have the best cornerback foursome in the league.

Why would anyone want to thumb you down for us keeping Lito? Our secondary will be outstanding to say the least With Jansen and possibly another kid in camp (Graham perhaps?) working their way onto the field. There isn't a set of WR in the league that would have a clear advantage against us. With the maturation of our front 4 and linebackers, we will have an awesome defense. :)

oh latin, i've had it happen ;0 !! i have a buddy who loves to hit the thumbs down on my replies on eagles blogs, i know who he is & i find it amusing at best. GETTING back to business here: i could NOT agree with YOU more!!!!! LOL!!!! and i hope everyone takes into consideration that the team, the coordinators, the FO want this to work......until they feel it can't-which i hope to hell never happens. we've got a great team, and i've got nothing but positive things to say.!!!!!!

There. I gave you another "thumbs up" post (for when your "friend" Tc *cough* bailey) gives you a thumbs down. :) LOL Yes, I am kung fu psychic like that.

LOL it's not TC silly!!!!! getting back on track here!!!

And I thought it was funny when Johnson said "I don't care how the FO or players feel..b/c I LIKE IT" Haha.

agreed, he's into it & so are the players, they are determined to make it work!!!!!!!

man i'd be excited if i were an d coordinator too... to have 3 pro bowl caliber cb

I hope they come to an agreement that will make things less "tense". It just kinda makes me mad that players sign a contract that they are stoked with at the time. Then whine and cry when they believe they are worth more a few years later (everyone should take note of the Larry Fitzgerald contract: 4 years. that way you can maximize your earning power). Pay me 8 million in a signing bonus and I'll be the jock strap boy for life! lol

touche latin, touche
it is what it is now, so BRING IT ON & LET'S PLAY BALL!!!!!!!

Makes me wonder who they would match up against Plaxico? Brown seems to be the one covering him most of the time. Thoughts?

Well I mean we have enough talent at that position that we could double team him if and I mean if we had to. But I think samuels probly be the one covering him. I can't wait to get this year started, we need to give the other team the ball first in the very first game. So that way we can start our year off the right way, with a defensive TD. OOOO YEA BABY let go gang GREEN.
