The fatal traffic accident involving Donte Stallworth is, unfortunately, only the latest black eye for the NFL and the University of Tennessee. Former Vols Leonard Little and Dwayne Goodrich also killed people while driving, among other negative off-field incidents involving Vol alums. Is it time for the University of Tennessee and the NFL to accept some culpability and step up to take more proactive steps to prevent future deaths like the one that happened yesterday?

  • Listen, if you've ever driven in TN you might better understand the trend. Nobody uses turn signals in this state and people frequently will change 2 or more lanes at a time to make turns.

Well, I suppose that is an explanation. Perhaps the whole state of TN needs an intervention when it comes to driving then. I wonder if incidents of vehicular homicide in TN are higher than other states in America?

I know one thing, I lived in Miami for two years and the driving habits down there are about the worst I've ever seen. Traffic signals and laws seem to be more like suggestions than hard rules -- and people don't seem to be following the "suggestions" very often.

I have only vacationed in Miami and I agree with you, the way traffic moves is painful at best. We have our issues in Ohio, but it is mostly because people go too slow. The Browns are going to be out of all of their offensive weapons soon. I hope they can do something.

Donte Stallworth from the Reports I heard has been 100% cooperative with the Police and it is also reported that the deceased individual that passed away from this accident may have walked in front of Stallworths car...A life was Lost and that is Truly the Sad part of this Whole Story..

      Fantastic point!

Agreed UNC23. Regardless of the specifics, the tragedy is that someone died. And there is no question that regardless of his past actions or the actions of his former teammates, by all accounts Donte has been incredibly shaken by the event. I am sure that justice, whatever it is in this case, will be served. But it's not bringing back a daughter's father and a wife's husband.
