Monster Deal between Tigers and Marlins brewing

Maybin and Miller are studs. If the Marlins can grab those two guys in a deal, they should do it.

As a Marlins fan, I am disgusted they are shopping D-Train and Cabi, but I do like Maybin and Miller, so this may be a deal I would feel good about.

As a Marlins fan, shouldn't you already be used to only having players there for a three or four year window?

Besides, Dontrelle is more hype than substance. His ERA and WHIP have gone up each of the last two seasons. Miller could be a better pitcher next season.

Bingo...I agree 100%. On the pitching side, the Marlins get the better of this deal over the long haul.

Probably going to take a lot more from the tigers to get that deal done, just don't see it happening.

I see it Dombrowski has great relations still with the Marlins. They might just have to throw in a prospect. I just think that Cabi is stupid cuz the AAA Mud Hens have the MVP 3rd baseman Mike Hessman......

Sending those two away is a major risk. Though it is smart that they would be shopping them out of their league.

it makes sense from both sides...but is very risky from both sides too. andrew miller, in my eyes, has a lot more upside than willis ever did, but willis could benefit from moving to a new league -- although, i know he'd be disappointed he couldn't hit when he pitches if traded to the AL. maybin, i would imagine, would open '08 in the minors with the tigers, and if traded to the marlins, would, more than likely, be their opening day starter in CF. the tigers would benefit greatly from cabrera's bat in the line-up, but i see d-train as more of a "favor" inclusion in the deal, in order to steal cabrera away.

and, in regards to mike hessman...AAA MVP and NL or AL MVP are completely different things. if he's that big of a prospect, put him in the deal, instead of maybin or miller, and get some use out of him. but, don't compare his "possible" production at the major league level to miguel cabrera's production thus far in the big leagues.
