Jaguar Wide Receiver Matt Jones responded angrily to Joey Porter's comments about Jones's recent arrest on cocaine possession charges by insinuating that Porter was spending time thinking about him because he liked men. Joey Porter, one of the more outspoken players in the NFL, wandered why he was fined $20,000 for complaining about officiating while Jones is still allowed to play when he was arrested for cocaine possession. Earlier in his career, Porter was suspended for three games for getting in a fight with another NFL player while in Las Vegas. That incident cost Porter over $100,000 in salary, even though he was not convicted of a crime. The matter was closed with the authorities when Porter paid a $1000 fine and pleaded no contest to the charge. It should be noted that Jones was suspended for three games by the NFL, but he appealed the suspension and is able to play until his case is reviewed by the commissioner.
