2009 Time to Shine: 5 Teams Poised for Playoff Run
TEAMS: Philadelphia Eagles, San Diego Chargers, New York Giants, Green Bay Packers, Cincinnati Bengals, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears

1Houston Texans
They get better each year and I find myself saying, "This is the year they get a wild card." With a healthy Schaub and a consistent offensive line they have a dangerous offense. Defensively they are improving, adding Brian Cushing will bolster the front seven.

2Kansas City Chiefs
This team looks revamped. Not only adding Matt Cassel (still a question mark but has potential) this year, but who remembers last year's draft? Glen Dorsey, Branden Alberts, and Brandon Flowers are three young players who can really make an impact on this team in their 2nd year. I hated the team taking Tyson Jackson 3rd overall but it is what it is. (Note: I also hated the Texans taking Mario Williams 1st overall as well)

3Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks have gone downhill ever since their Superbowl XL appearance. Injuries to key players have been the team's M.O. in recent years. With Matt Hasselbeck returning and the addition of T.J. Houshmandzadeh this offense should see improvement. Young players like Aaron Curry and John Carlson will also play big roles in the teams bounce back year.

4Chicago Bears
This is a team that was a win away from last year's playoffs. The defense still has gas left in the tank but the question is offense. Jay Cutler should answer that question with his big time arm and playmaking ability. Greg Olsen is poised for a breakout season and Matt Forte is a threat as well. With a top flight receiver, this team could be Superbowl bound, but for now I'll just stick to a divisional title.

5New Orleans Saints
In my opinion Drew Brees is the NFC's best quarterback. A shakey 2007 campaign had critics talking, but 5,000 yards later they shut up. With Vilma setting in nicely and the addition of Malcolm Jenkins the defense is starting to take form. Most likely not good enough to make it to the big game, but a wild card run could be possible.

yeah i stretched it with KC just bc they been improving and look like they might have a shot...still questionable at RB though with larry johnson not knowin what in the world hes gonna be doin this season and still a very raw team....but maybe a surprise...and new orleans is in such a tough division now that they are gonna have a hard time but they have the talent on offense
