Sports Illustrated Top 50 NFL Players for the 2008 Season!!!
Just got the SI magazine in the mail and I was looking throughout the typical nonsense they put out in the NFL preview with whose going to win the superbowl and stuff like that.....So this top 50 players by Peter King was eye catching though I dont even agree with any of his picks....Everyone argue for your picks cause this is chaos with the picks he picked.... THIS IS NOT MY LIST DUMMY's!! I WOULD NEVER PUT AN OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OR DTackle in mY List!!!!! Superbowl Pick by SI--Paul Zimmerman is Patriots over Eagles -->26 to 23 let me just say they ranked the Giants last year at 20 something.....and the same teams in the superbowl i believe (im going to find the magazine)

  • 1
    Tom Brady

QB=Patriots--->I guess losing in the SuperBowl keeps you at 1...(Peter Kings opinions just get worse down the list)

  • BLitSharper42
Come on Im a lions fan but are you kidding me with Calvin Johnson at #42. let him get through a season first before putting him in front of Terrell Owens. Even Roy is better than Calvin right now. Calvin could have a monster year but let him prove it first!
    • whitejordan32
      Placard_complete_small
Agreed 100%. He has the talent to be top 50, but hasn't proven being this high yet, I think he will if he can stay healthy this year though.
  • BLitSharper42
*Im not a lions fan, lol the lions are beat. Also, where's the love for my big man Pat Williams and I love the Antoine Winfield pick.
    • BookerT
      Placard_complete_small
hahahahah,.,.,,,,antoine winfield is da man.....peter king boasts all these players in top 50, how come vikings dont make the playoffs????

but this year they probably will, if only they had A QB
      • BLitSharper42

    • BookerT
      Placard_complete_small
Where was TO, Nnamdi Asomougha and Bob Sanders when Justin Tuck was busy sacking the dude at Number 1, Tom Brady?

o please, ovisuly an Eagles Fan, wheres trent cole
      • BLitSharper42
haha..agreed.. Eagles fan are usually biased, but you gotta love their passion for the NFL
        • whitejordan32
          Placard_complete_small
If passion is a synonym or idiotic, then you're right. Half the Eagles "fans" have no idea what they're talking about. If McNabb and Westbrook were 1 and 2, there would be 100 comments of people complaining Brian Dawkins wasn't 3. The world isn't basking the Eagles, they just aren't that good.

    Placard_complete_small
the fact that mcnabb is not on this list but Rivers, Brees, AND Palmer are is proof of how much weed you can smoke and still get a decently paying job.
  • htkrocks
This list looks like somebody just took some names and randomly put them up, especially past #5....Come on season opener!!! I'm just ready for the players to put it on the field!!
  • whitejordan32
    Placard_complete_small
HAHAHAHA. Your criticism is terrible. The best WR of our generation should be at 26 and a guy who has had 2 good seasons at 4? Losing in the super bowl makes you worse? I guess Eli should be #1 then right? And what about your boy McNabb? He's lost the Super Bowl and hasn't won 3 like TB has. Mario Williams was sick last year and definitely deserves to be high on this list. How is the DPOY #50?
    • BookerT
      Placard_complete_small
....some peoples reading comprehension is pathetic.....I said above Peter King wrote this DAMN.....I have nothing to do with the list besides what I wrote next to their names......I would never put OL or DT....

and my criticism is my criticism i could care less on your miniscule bi*****......Randy Moss is only a two route reciever, Fly and Out....the Best WR of our generation Is TO....Terrell Owens......Owens does it all and doesnt quit on his team like Moss did with the Raiders, wherever Owens goes he plays hard....Moss always been amazing (minus the 2 yrs In Oakland) but what happened in the Superbowl.....Yea the Giants blitzed the hell out of Brady, but where is this gr8est reciever of our generation....Wes Welker picked up the slack with the 9 yard catches (rich gannon esque)....If Moss was this gr8est receiver of our generation where was he in the Super Bowl, minus that lucky TD in which Webster fail...At least TO played his heart out in the super Bowl and he played on one good leg.....

DeMarcus Ware should be where Mario Williams is in Peter Kings list....

      • whitejordan32
        Placard_complete_small
I never said you wrote it, I said the things ypu put next were garbage. T.O doesn't quit on his team? What did he do in Philly? And San Fran? That's Welker's job to do the dirty work. Randy may be a 2 route receiver. But I think 23 TD's shows that not only can it work, it can be unstoppable.

It can be hard to compare players of different positions, but cmon! this list is absolutely terrible! Mario Williams in the top 8, Joe Thomas over Walter Jones, Ben Rothlesberger in the Top 20, Patrick Kerney over Justin Tuck and Aaron Kampman, and then Brian Westbrook at number 26! And then seeing the name Jay Cutler appearing on the list! Shouldn't you have to at least watch these players in order to be qualified to make this list for SI?
  • Why does patrick willis get no 180 TACKLES come one he should be a top 10 just like AP
