Marion Barber to Miami Rumor Sizzling Hot With a Carpenter

The Landry Hat first reported this scenario and it's fueled debates all over message boards and blogs. Today, I saw one message that the Dallas Cowboys were discussing sending over both first round picks, a fourth round and Marion Barber to the Dolphins for their top pick. Linebacker Bobby Carpenter's name is popping up to. He's one of Bill Parcell's drafted babies. He's also underperformed for the Cowboys.

Some Cowboys fans are saying that this trade makes no sense. I can't say I want it to happen because I don't. And if you think about it too much it really doesn't make sense. But if you think about it even more, then it starts to make sense again.

Look back at all of the running backs Bill Parcells has loved. Marion Barber fits that mold. Marion Barber is a restricted free agent, which means that the Cowboys have seven days to match any offers for him at the end of the season, UNLESS THEY TRADE HIM. Any team that would take Barber outside a trade would also have to give up 1st and 3rd round draft picks, a more unlikely scenario. A Bobby Carpenter to Miami trade as part of the deal also makes sense because it appears Zach Thomas is leaving Miami. Plus, the Cowboys are loaded with good linebackers, which is one reason Carpenter has seen little playing time.

i dont think Dallas will let him go, and Miami doesnt have a glaring need at RB once Brown in healthy. They'll use that cap room for defense, or a reciever, or a QB!!!

They need alot more before a RB... unless of course they go after Barber and trade Brown for some heavy playmakers, which is possible.

If you are a true Cowboys fan, then this is an OUTRAGE. And this writer knows his stuff, but he forgets that Barber was finally named the starter for the division game, and had over a hundred yards rushing. This is an idiotic trade. Also, it's rumored that the reason that Jones wants the first pick is for Darren McFadden. There is NO guarantee that Mcfadden's gonna be the next Adrian Peterson. Julius Jones is the one that needs to be traded. Sure he's not a pro bowler, but he's better than several starting running backs on other teams. I love the cowboys, but I will lose much faith in Jerry Jones and the administrative decisions if this atrocity happens.
