Message to McNabb: THE REAL PATH TO EAGLES VICTORY (Also for MR. Fitz, CJ, J Peps, and J allen)

Dear Mr. McNabb,

Last year, the Eagles made a horrible move drafting Kolb. They totally undermined your skill as an athletic and intelligent quarterback. I know I'm not nearly as amazing as you at football, but you don't have the advantage of an Indianapolis Colts O-Line. Therefore, I think you should just roll a little more, because that New York game didn't do you justice. As for the draft, I think drafting a first round WR might be smart. This time instead of Mitchell, the Eagles should get DeSean Jackson. He can kick return, and he could also play like Steve Smith of New York, making plays when needed.

This sounds crazy, but we should stop at 2nd round. We should just draft Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. He could play nickel and be starting corner. Sheldon could move up to safety, and J.R. Reed could also switch. Sheldon will start corner but it is good to plan for the future.

I didn't mean give all the picks away, but keep the rest for off-season transactions.

1. Get Chad Johnson. I know this sounds crazy, but he is definitely the biggest double team threat in the league following Randy Moss. While he will play like Moss under an adept quarterback as you, you will get space to throw it to DeSean or Kevin. This leads us on.

2. Larry Fitzgerald. I know this sounds crazy, but Larry is also someone we can get. We have enough money for him and more. He can be our deep threat, while Ocho Cinco can be an all around. Covering Chad will leave Larry open, and he can prove his catch and run game to the fans.



3. Jared Allen or Jullius Peppers, it doesn't matter who, but Peppers could be a great option. Jared might cost too much. But either one is fine.



4. Roy Williams for Reggie: For a 4th rounder this is great, but it depends if it will interfere with the Larry, Jared or Julius, and Chad transactions. For an 9th and 11th it seems great. If we hypothetically get Roy we will be a dream team. DeSean Chad and Larry. We will definitely win, and you will get your ring.

If #1-3 of these 4 plus the draft picks get fulfilled Philly will win. You will get your MVP for sure. And no one will ever underestimate you ever again.

im crazy? come on man, the draft picks are highly likely, and we probably will land larry or chad either one, and why cant jared be a possibility. If you want a ring, then we have got to make these changes DONOVAN NEEDS THEM. We havent given him anything, and ure complaining getting randy donte adalius and wes was a dream wasnt it if we get these people tampa will jus hand us the lombardi, NFC is definitely beginning to dominate, but we deperately need to land CHAD AND LARRY then were in DeSean and Dominque are highly likely and peppers will realize that he needs to be on a wining team

ANYBODY ELSE WANNA TAKE A SHOT HUH? THERE ARE NO FLAWS IN THIS PLAN, THERE IS CHEAPNESS THAT THE EAGLES SUFFER FROM THE ONLY THING THE EAGLES NEED IS A YOUNG SAFETY THATS IT. OTHERWISE THIS IS PERFECT PLAN TO GET MCNABB AND WESTBROOK AND DAWKINS A RING. Either youre with me or without me, but ask yourself if you bleed green.

If only we had an uncapped era and all owners acted like Dan Snyder and George Steinbrenner. This would happen EVERY year haha. I enjoyed your post and you are obviously a fanatic. But you must realize that there is a salary cap for a reason (to keep the small market teams a la Green Bay competitive). Which thus makes the NFL the greatest sport on Earth. Your master plan would work if every free agent were open to joining ONE team for the league minimum so they had a chance to win a Superbowl. But like everyone, people want to get paid for their talents on the field (as much as they say they want a ring more than ANYTHING). There is a slim line between most NFL teams when it comes to all around talent. We could have easily been 13-3 this year given that we lost to the Pakers, Bears, Patriots, Seahawks and Giants by four points or less. When Andy said that we were "not that far away"..now you can see why he has this view (a couple less penalties..our offense having a few less turnovers..our defense forcing a few more turnovers). Overall I thnk our defense played MUCH better than last year. Teams are built through the draft and wise business decisions in free agency. There is no secret to why we have been hugely successful over the past decade. If we mortgage our future NOW there will be nothing left and we will become the "new" Arizona Cardinals..Lions..etc. I personally would rather be "not that far away" and have a shot at winning the Superbowl every year than a perennial basement dweller. I too share your conviction and passion when it comes to winning. And I too believe we need more "playmakers" on both sides of the ball. The reality is, that we will probably land ONE superstar player and perhaps a few role players (even though Im hoping for a big splash like we did prior to the 2004 season with T.O and Kearse). But this year Im hoping for a better duo (Johnson/Fitzgerald Allen/Peppers) and a different outcome in this years Superbowl (WINNING).

Dude thats does sound a little crazy ], But i really like it. Thats guaranteed to work yo. You are the greatest man for coming up with this. I just hope that Andy reads this. This will get his mind pumping. Go EAGLES!!!!! Super Bowl Champs 2009. No other team has a chance against us if we has these guys. We will be the team to beat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We'd be lucky to make just one of those WR trades work out. All of them, is out of the question. Peppers does nothing for me, it would be Kearse all over again (all hype). I like Jared Allen's upside, but he's not worth the $$.

Since we have a knack for drafting quality D linemen in the later rounds of the draft (ie T Cole 5th round), Id rather work with rotating Juqua & V.A. from last year's draft and pick up a prospect late.

Last year's draft was a bust, but the FA went well. All we can hope for is that we slam dunk it this year with a phenomonal draft once we've made our usual free agent splash.

This will not happen, wishful thinking. They will sign a receiver and most likely draft one in the 2nd to 3rd round. Desean Jackson, is not going to make it as a receiver in the NFL, he will return kicks but wont amount to anything more then 3rd or 4th receiver.

No flaws? How do you expect them to kand both LArry and Chad and still keep their first and second round draft picks. If we cut kearse and howard and even some other we are looking at about 28 million under the cap. Larry makes 15 mil next year allen will command about 9-10, and Chad makes 7. I guess we are drafting anyone after that

The Eagles won't get Jared Allen because K.C. will franchise him. They also won't pursue Chad Johnson because of the POTENTIAL of another T.O. situation.

I like the thought of getting all those guys though. The Birds would be unstoppable!

This plan sounds great...but there is no way it could happen. You make it sound so easy but it really isnt. If we are lucky we MIGHT land a CJ or Larry Fitz but its far from definite. Again I love the passion but landing all these guys in one offseason is not realistic.

Before the Eagles even try and dip into the FA market they need to realize they need to run the ball more during the course of the season. You have one of the top 3 backs in the NFL! Let him run free! That said, they should try and grab a top FA corner. Asante Samuel, or Marcus Trufont. That would help move Sheldon Brown to a safety position and solidify the DBs. They should also spend some extra cap money on a top O-lineman. Alan Faneca or Jordan Gross. Make the front that much more dominant to protect McNabb and open holes for Westbrook. That way we can keep our top round picks and try and grab a WR during one of the first 2 rounds. Those few moves will definitly make the eagles a threat in the NFC and give them possibly their best shot at a super bowl win before Dawkins is gone, and while McNabb and Westbrook are in their prime.

I can't see them going after Chad Johnson, especially after the crap he pulled this week in Hawaii. L.Fitz makes more sense to me, but it's true about the front office being cheap. They seem content with mediocrity. Players I think they should consider in Free Agency would be LB Haggans, G Faneca, FB D. Kreider (Kreider grew up as an Eagles fan), WR R.Williams and A. Samuel. Banner and Heckert need to open their wallets and spend some of Luries musty money!!!

Asante is going to be one of the highest paid players in the league and the eagles already have lito.
Jared allen will probably get a franchise tag. the eagles will get stallworth, and thats probably all.

this seems a lot like wishful thinking so im gonna break it down how i think it will play out

chad johnson will not be an eagle simply because of the way he has been acting. demanding out of cinncy and shoving reporters doesnt attract teams, especially a team like the eagles who already had their situation with TO.

It sounds like Larry Fitzgerald is going to stay in Arizona and a long term deal is going to be worked out. The eagles have the money for Fitz but he is expensive and the eagles probably dont want to spend that much on one free agent.

Roy Williams was reported as a possibility but now it seems as though detrioit isnt really looking to trade him unless they get an overwhelming offer, most likely involving first day picks. the eagles arent known for trading picks, especially first day picks

Jared Allen is going to get tagged by the chiefs and although julious peppers is an option, but i havent head a lot from his situation

I think stallworth will get cut and the eagles will bring him back along with a high draft pick on a wide reciever and a defensive end. They have some potential in the secondary but i wouldnt be suprised if they drafted another safety or corner

It's nice to dream but I agree with you.None of the other WRs mentioned would stand for being a #2 let alone a#3.Nor shouldn't they.I think that #18 is coming back to town because business- wise it makes the most sense.We shall see...........Damn I can't wait!

Asante will definitly be the highest paid corner after the offseason, but hes a proven player. It would be easier to pay him big bucks and train a WR from the draft than the opposite way around.

eagleman11 --- A good FA reciever would help. I like DJ Hackett or Bernard Berrian. They can play in the west coast offense. Both are down field threats, DJ just has to stay healthy, and Bernard hasnt had a real QB to play with yet anyway. Plus neither of them can demand the kind of money a Fitz or Randy Moss would want/deserve. Chad Johnson would just turn into another TO situation, plus his agent Drew Rosenhouse ... who in philly wants him around again .. No Comment.

PrincedePhila You Are Dumb. If Donovan reads this he will laugh. This sounds like a 12 year old wrote it acting like he knows everything. How IN THE WORLD do you expect to get all of them players. I am sure giving up a 3rd round draft pick will get us CJ JP JA or even LF. DUMMY. Picking up one of these receivers is logical. The most logical is the Roy Williams trade. And just to let you know, JULIUS PEPPERS IS ONE OF THE AND PROB THE BEST DE IN THE GAME. PERIOD. Well that is my time. All of these guys demand a lot of money, especially Peppers, Fitz, and Johnson. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE PEPPERS AND JOHNSON OR FITZGERALD. EITHER ONE. BUT DEFINITELY PEPPERS!!

Thank you guys, this is what we need. HOPE this city hasn't gotten love in over 30 years, and we need to make it happen. This is our time, and victory will be that much sweeter for our eagles. All the players i stated whether it be chad larry donovan or julius, they all were criticized heavily, we got to put this idea up front to the office, because football ought to come from the heart heart, like it used to. And i think that my eagles, your eagles, our nations eagles can put the soul back in the football and unite the NFL with something besides money. A SPIRIT OF DOING IT FOR YOUR CITY. Uguys are right im sorry for sounding crazy but we should just land ocho cinco, i think has the drive and i think he is a great one, we dont need fitz as much as chad, chad would be huge as a role model, not for the dances money, or the ocho-ness, but for the passion he brings for the the game, he is desperate and we are desperate, were perfect for each other. as for DE you guys are right, thomas an cole could be the top 5 de pair in the league, VA will learn from cole, but still there are still possibilities, how much would john abraham cost? as for my drafts i admit getting DeSean might be dumb, but how about malcolm kelly. he could be the ideal reggie brown we hoped for, no offense to reggie tho, hes getting better, and might make it to hawaii if we jus got Chad. I guess all we need is CHAD, forget his conduct, he brings a lot to the table, also landing stallworth might help too. I dont know about the chemistry however. Sorry Mr. McNabb i was being too idealistic, but we SHOULD LAND OCHO CINCO, DOMINIQUE CROMARTIE, MALCOLM KELLY, AND TRY ALAN FANECA OR LOOK FOR LINEMEN IN THE DRAFT, sorry for being too idealistic, but i still bleed green, go sixers ( actually in maybe 10 years when we have a chance jk Lol) peace out sorry for being a 12 year old, but use ur imagination, anyways OCHO CINCO, KELLY, CURTIS, BROWN, LEWIS, AVANT hell yeah, Cole thomas maybe abraham, great, cromartie brown sheppard dawkins reed and mikell i think our secondary title will be won once again.

You just took the 4 biggest trade/draft/FA signing rumors for this offseason and pretty much said that the Eagles could do them ALL. I know there are dreams, but there is also reality...and the reality is that the Eagles can do no better than getting one big name receiver (Either Williams, Fitzgerald, or Johnson) and one big name defensive player (Either Allen or Samuel). To hope for anything more than that is lunacy.

I do agree about DeSean Jackson, though. Not only is he a receiver capable of starting right now, he can also improve the worst return game in the NFL. The differnce between 8-8 and out of the playoffs and 10-6 and IN the playoffs (with a healthy McNabb at the end of the year...would have scared everyone) was our return game. We gave away a game against Green Bay. And squandered more opportunites for improving field position by re-signing Reno 911.
