The Raiders got the 3rd easiest schedule in the NFL (Chargers, Pats have 2nd and 1st respectively) so they should do good, plus they overpaid like all their players except asomugha, which means there is talent on there team

Schedule is determined by a few things; first, a division plays another division each year in a 4 year cycle, and a team plays 2 divisions plus 6 inter-division games so thats 14 and the other 2 games are determined by something else. the chargers and pats just had their cards right; pats face rest of AFC East which is horrible w/o em, NFC West wit the Rams and Cards, and the AFC West? i think, its the one with the Broncos and Raiders

its not exactly "random" because it follows a pattern; an nfc east team faces the nfc west, north, then south in the next few seasons respectively and the afc north, south, west and east plus the other two games based on their division position
