Palmer mostly mum regarding disgruntled WRs

**EDIT** thanks to all who answered it is appreciated, that is what makes a good thread ;) !!

an actual players perspective on the NON stop flapping of the jaws of Chad Johnson & i agree with the guy......where does it end. if this is the way he's treating his team now, can you imagine if he comes to one of the teams he's is supposedly rumored to be going to? no more diva clean up in philly please. i know you or most of you are all hungry for a WR/myself is surely included in that, but i'd much rather have a LEVEL headed player to compliment our already existing receivers then go through another distracted season over a diva ....... no time for it-READ the article ;) !!

peace out,

ck0712

EDIT: here for a second, our beloved & elite donovan ASKED FOR PLAYMAKERS yes, i'm aware of that, BUT he did not ask for playmakers that are gonna make a 3 ring circus outta the team as soon as things don't go there way!!!! ...Lets get #5 weapons, not TALKERS.......;)

seems i've started a new phase hopefully here in the yard & that's getting back to the TEAM !!

have a great easter & don't forget to bite the bunny ears off the bunnies ;)!!

I guess he doesnt want to make it seem like he's taking sides, and doesnt want to have a fall out with either WR.

he's doin what donovan did, just keep his mouth shut & do his job that he loves. i feel for the guy & the team!!
and i seriously hope our FO is not even thinkin about this guy, because it's drama big time. fill my inbin with mail blah blah blah, Don't care....he's trouble & he is not the TEAM playmaker we need......it's a TEAM effort not just a WR effort.

Enjoy your Easter Weekend CK.

u 2 & bite them bunny ears, they are my fave LMAO!

it seems like he likes houshmandzadeh better and wuold rather he stay than chad

i dont' know, but it's an awful position to put a whole team in just because he's not happy with his life on the team. seems this guy needs a lesson in what a team player means , dunno and i really don't care - he's got a bad tude and we don't need bad tudes here in philly, we need team players & team playmakers, thanks birdsfan536 for your input - you could be right-it's a hard call & an even harder position to be in (i would imagine!!!)

i don't know wether he likes him better but he's going to have to rely on him if johnson continues to behave the way he is.

johnson already has said he's not going to be showing up monday so i guess the side show continues.

this part speaks volumes;

Yet Palmer is too diplomatic to say what he and most of his teammates are surely feeling right now – that Johnson's conspicuous and provocative expressions of his unhappiness in Cincinnati have become a major annoyance, and the problem seems destined to escalate.

This is a train wreck in waiting, but of immediate importance to Palmer is that neither Johnson nor Houshmandzadeh is likely to show up next week when the Bengals begin their voluntary offseason conditioning program.

that's a good point, i don't think the eagles and us as fans want to go through that again, but we do need someone to help dmac. Other than the Randy Moss offer, it seems like the FO is completely ignoring the issue

the FO has been very active-and normally you would NOT hear me say that , at all, ....BUT they've been aggressive and have looked at any FA they felt were worth looking at, hence Moss being offered what he was. I think Bennett who they are actively looking at is a positive sign, i can't say they are ignoring it all together because we don't know what's goin on behind closed doors, they have really surprised us this year so far with the splash they've made, you never know what could happen next. always the draft too-yeah i know rookie etc...but a superstar does not make a team, a team makes a team-make sense? lol

yeah it makes perfect sense. i just think that we need to do something offensively to make our NFC East rivals sweat a little bit, besides having Brian Westbrook run ridiculous screen patterns for 60 yards.
*cough* Redskins *cough*

peagle05 sorry i just now saw your reply, i agree totally agree & i'm sure they are going to do something-i've NEVER been one to step up for andy or the FO at all!!!! EVER, but this year i have to have faith in them, they actually spent money & have already started mapping out the road to tampa. we do not need any bumps in that road ;) poor brian he amazing man that he is, will get his rest up and the poor guy probably won't know how to act LOL! he's so used to well doing everything ;)!!!
lets see what happens in what do we have the next 34 days i'm sure something is brewing and even if there isn't who's to say the road to tampa isn't there? FAITH babeeeee faith!!!!!

yeah I guess we should just let Dallas pick him up. That would be a hell of a lot better than getting a number one receiver and going to the Super Bowl. Just let Dallas take him just like they took TO. Look, like it or not this is THE guy. Yeah he has attitude but wouldn't you if you played for the Bengals? It is worth the risk and if we pick the guy up, that leaves the Cowboys with nothing. You know how they eye our prospects and leftovers. Like a fat chick staring at the last piece of cake.

a number one receiver does not a superbowl run make, the team makes the superbowl run. i appreciate your input greatly bleedgreen99 and i sure hope that you have a wonderful easter weekend!!!

dallas hasn't said they wanted him. he said he wanted to go there then again he's said so much that anymore you can't keep it all straight. monday when he doesn't show for offseason conditioning (yes i'm aware its voluntary) the side show that it has become will continue.

dallas hasn't said they wanted him

exaclty they haven't good point!!!

we eye your prospects???? uh no...ya we took T.O. cause he didn't fit in as an eagle but it turned out great for us...as far as chad johnson it was him when he was on the best damn sports show where he showed interest in dallas not philly...so maybe it's the other way around...maybe u guys r eyeing our prospects

Philadelphia is a fun team i can say that, we work hard but we are fun. I actually met most of the eagles because of my school won an NBA cares, and the eagles just came along. Some people i met were; Pinkston, McNabb, Westbrook, Either Ritchie or Parry I forget Sheppard Brown Michael Lewis Brian Dawkins Trotter, Smith, and even Owens. One thing i can say was that they were awesome and had the same playfulness Chad does. McNabb is a great guy and he needs some1 to share the fun. BTW I met AI, Eric Snow and McKie, most awesome guard group EVER

yes we are a fun team prince and we'd like to stay that way . i'm glad you had a chance to meet all those players, that is awesome & a great experience. Donovan has someone to share the fun, he has his team behind him & the fans that reach far & wide-not just philly fans, others as well. the man is elite, like no other & i say that because he has always been a gentelman & never ever, even in the face of adversity, he has always excelled!

ive done alot of thinking about this and i can say in the beginning i was kinda excited about the possibility but after seeing the vid and remembering the drama this dude causes , i dont know if the man would be a good fit , there still is a handfull of recievers you could trade for that would be better "teammates then chad". Reguardless of who is lookin at the man , we should persue thebest available widereciever that has all the attributes that would be best for us! A team player , humble playmaker , and hardworking wide reciever is who we need! To tell you the truth , i dont know if this will be the year for the no#1 reciever to come to town! The draft will probally be our only hope , i would much rather see a roy williams , anquan boldin , tory holt , ect , then a big train wreck wr like chad

bleedgreen1978 i commend you, your reply was well executed & well thought out -

A team player , humble playmaker , and hardworking wide reciever is who we need

that is just perfect and exactly my point!!!!

the draft may not be our only hope, they are looking at bennet (spelling) and he does fit the above criteria a team player. we have good receivers now, we just need someone to compliment them. we've made our splash in FA and it may not be done yet, but i stress we do not need any more drama filled flashy WR's that are not willing to play as a team!! like i said above :

a number one receiver does not a superbowl run make, the team makes the superbowl run

if it's not a team it's not worth it....that's why i don't have fave players listed i like the whole team!!

I like it ck. I have also said it many a times: A great player will always make the pro bowl but a team that plays as a solid unit wins the super bowl!

dig it ghucdaulus, all in good time!!!!

You can't say Chad is a train wreck, 7 Pro Bowls is not a characteristic of a train wreck. Chad is the best thing that happened to his team, and he is one of the rare examples of a team being led by their Wide Receiver. And what appreciation does he get? None from the 30 other teams, and now his own team is turning on him. I believe the Eagles have acknowledged that Chad is not a train wreck, but it is a little immature, or childlike as Brett Favre was. But don't we love Brett? I mean every sunday the best thing was to look at Brett celebrate after a TD pass or a big play. Good football players aren't afraid to show the child in them, so why should the fans be scared? If you ask me, Chad is a great assett and I would be proud to have him as our #1 WR. Dallas doesn't need him, neither do the 'Skins. The Eagles need him, because once we get a spark of hope on offense our situationals, and overall stats will go through the rough, and you will see confetti on Broad St.

kudo's to you prince!! we all have our opinions and that's what makes the yard so much fun. i'm glad he's not afraid to show the child in him -fantastic!!
you make sure you have an amazing easter tomorrow & have fun!!

i'm sorry but when have the eagles acknowledged anything to do with chad johnson? when has dallas? it has all been chad johnson talking no one else, well except for the numerous blogs on here saying he's going to various teams. his own team isn't turning on him they haven't said anything about him other then "no comment" did you read the article? the eagles already have a spark of hope, they have a team in place.

and again i'm back to the only one talkin is chad- babe. i know it so do alot of other, so we shall see what goes down soon enough, i for one do not want any more distractions for this team as a unit with that said, i've got a ton of stuff to do for 2 morrow, i'm very very glad for all the feedback i've gotten & i hope u all ROCK out your easter!!!!!!!
BITE THOSE bunny ears now ya hear ;)!

peace out

I understand why you are saying what you are about Chad ck, you are afraid of another trash talkin, enzone dancin WR like Chad Johnson b/c of what happened with TO. And I can't fault you for having that fear that Ocho will turn out the same way. However, there is one difference between Ocho and TO. Ocho has NEVER made his rants and his holdouts and any other antics about money, the way TO has done. Chad has only caused trouble when his team isn't winning. He has even stated that he will not stay in Cinci even if they pay him more $$$$. It sounds to me like Chad is putting an NFL team's goal (winning a superbowl) before himself (taking more $ and staying on a bad team). He wants to win a superbowl before he retires, and who can fault him for that?

All Chad has done is call out his organization and his teammates. Some of them like Carson Palmer seem to care more about the $$ then winning, cause he obviously wasn't too sorry after his lackluster performances prevented the Bengals from making the playoffs. And also, the FO in Cinci hasn't done much to help the Bengals get better and contend. Chad was mad about the fact that his teammates are OK with losing, and the fact that his front office is OK with mediocrity. Chad just wants to win, and that attitude would be welcome in my opinion.

If you ask Donovan about Chad Johnson, I guarantee he will want him. He is a playmaker, and with Donovan throwing to him, he would be the #1 or #2 WR in the NFL. Also, if the Eagles got Chad, they would be sooo stacked and would never lose and Chad would stay happy.

We need to get Chad here, with that #1, the Birds would be super bowl bound. Sure we would be taking a minor chance, but you gotta take risks to get to the top. The patriots did with Moss and it paid off for them, as they went 16-0 and made the superbowl.

The thing you gotta remember CK is that for every TO type story, there are 2 or 3 Randy Moss type stories, where the player actually turns out to be a benefit. Chad has not done or said even half the things Randy Moss has in his career, so if Randy can change in 1 season from selfish egotistical jerk to team player, I'm pretty sure we won't have any problems with Chad.

NICE reply Sand!! you've made sum HUGE VALID points & thank YOU for recognizing what my fears are!!
I must say reading your reply ( and i actually thought i was gonna get off line lol) has given some fresh stuff to think about and mull over as this unfolds. if it's meant to be then it will be & i hope you are right about him, i really really do.
Your reply was thought out & laid out like an executed plan, just like the bleedgreen one above, i dig that more then anything. even if someone doesn't agree with me but there points are valid & thought out - it makes all the difference in the world & YOU Sand made that difference. we shall see what happens over the course of the next few months.
Thank you for your immense & intelligent input into this blog, it's ppl. that answer with finese that get my attention more then anything!!
peace out,
ck0712!!!

Thanks ck, you started a great thread here, lot of good discussion rather than just stupid rumors and useless banter. This is the stuff that makes yardbarker a great site.

dig it!!! glad ya enjoyed the thread!!

I'm sorry, but I feel you are giving chad a bad wrap. The "Bad Boys" of WR's aka:
Moss, Owens
Left because they were not content with taking the blame for the whole teams play.Randy Moss was supposed to be Captain of the Raiders... Captain...
It is foolish to make a WR a captain, none the less someone who is not ready to take the reigns. When he was given a chance he flourished, and now the "BAD" Moss is away, and everyone desires him. T.O. was the same, more/less Rosenhaus wanted commission because he did not make money from the Philadelphia trade, and eventually instigated the Philadelphia dispute. Owens was not a leader because he turned on his team for money.

Chad Johnson is confident, not egotistical, and I believe there is a huge difference. between him and Owens, he has similar needs as Moss did. Give him a team with playoff contention, a decent salary and not complete responsibility for the offense and he is fine. McNabb established his leadership role as well as Westbrook, I am sure Chad would have no problems following orders from McNabb as Moss has from Brady. If we choose to be biased with Chad Johnson, we could lose out on a person who can bring high charisma and intensity to the WR position. I don't know about you, but waiting until next season is depressing. This city wants a Superbowl, we have talent, lets make moves to show we want the Superbowl, as the Patriots have. They may have lost, but they will be in contention for the next 3-4 years with Moss, and we could be in contention with Johnson.

eh i'm not giving chad anything i blogged my thoughts & an article and pretty much peeps answered. it is what it is, enjoy the thread & have a kicken easter day!!!

Have seen Chad's antics on the sidelines and I can safely say that they are not much better than T.O.'s were. Yeah, any good wide receiver wants to play for a S.B. team, but not all of them can or will. Just the luck of the draw.

.. I would hate it if Dallas got chad johnson.. even if we do have the secondary 2 matchup with them.. Chad belongs in Eagles Green not with the shitty a$$ cowgilrz!!!!

well at last call, no one said he's goin anywhere, only chad has said so it is what it is. have a kicken easter day!!!

if ocho cinco leaves cincy he will become a cowboy...so if that happens tell your secondary good luck covering ocho cinco and ocho uno LOL

uh ok, i'll be sure to pass that message on......um u just left yourself wide open for a flame, sorry - u r on your own lol

last i heard and that was about 10 minutes ago mr. chad isn't goin anywhere anytime soon he's stayin with the bengals u have a kicken day now ya hear

you gonna cover this on the show? wait i'm talkin about you, yea i answered my own question lol

of course & c'mon i'm tryin to log off lol! yeah im coverin it doll one of the 1st things up ;0!

Live on ESPN??? Just kick Berman's fat ass out of that chair and take over, CK.

i intend to my dear with a huge biker boot LMAO!

Chad, Chad, Chad, you bring this on yourself, your antics are pretty stupid, you let your antics and your mouth overshadow your game play and frankly, it does detract from the team. You're 30 years old, grow up and act like a man, quit your yapping, antics and no one loves me attitude and go play football, that is what you're gettng paid for. If you still don't feel love, see a professional, he/she could proabably help you get over the issues you did not get as a child. One more thing, if you feel you're not getting paid enough, come live off my salary (military) for a month, I don't think you can and I will gladly take your salary.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to feed my family!!!! And, pay for my new grillz.
