NFL Predictions: Week 1 (part 3)

Hope everyone had a good Sunday, although I know some of you didn't because not everyone can be a winner. After Sunday Night, I'm 10-4 on predictions. What have I learned? That I'm not going to predict scores anymore, because I'm awful at it. Monday Night Football has tons of potential this week with a great double header.

Baltimore @ Cincinnati

Baltimore Key Player: Willis McGahee. Willis should by all means be one of the top running backs in the NFL. He no longer has the drawback of being a Buffalo Bill. He has the talent to be one of the best, but the real question is, "Will he?"

Cincinnati Key Player: Carson Palmer. One of the elite quarterbacks in the league, Palmer should be able to prevail, even though he is facing a tough Baltimore defense. What he needs to do is keep his head about him, which shouldn't be a problem for him. And if I had to pick one quarterback to be able to pick apart the Ravens defense, it's Carson Palmer.

Who wins: This should be a great game. It won't be high scoring, so it might be first to 14 wins. It will most likely come down to the last minute and I am ultimately going to go with Carson Palmer and the Cincinnati Bengals. I just have more faith in Carson Palmer and the Cincinnati offense than I do in Ray Lewis and the Baltimore defense.

Arizona @ San Francisco

Arizona Key Player: Matt Leinart. Leinart has every weapon a young quarterback could ever want, and now he needs to step up and be the man in Arizona. Although San Francisco has upgraded in their secondary, but the wide receiving talent has the talent to step up and put some points on the board for the red birds.

San Francisco Key Player: Vernon Davis. Davis has a lot of injury problems last season, but I he should have an explosive year this year. And he should prove to be one of Alex Smith's most valuable weapons. When a quarterback has a security blanket in a top tier tight end, they can do great things. And Davis has the potential to be the best at his position.

Who wins: This game will be a shootout, plain and simple. This game may be even more entertaining that the early game. In the end, I think the 49ers will come out on top. They just have more talent, and I think that they have a chance to make the playoffs this year if they can stay healthy.

Well, that's it for this week. I'll be back later this week to give my predictions for week 2.

If McNair doesn't find some sort of passing game then Willis we be another mediocre runner. I have him McGahee and that was a horrible display of football by the Ravens.

Agreed. The Ravens are really hurting in the wide receiver department. Derrick Mason isn't what he used to be, and Mark Clayton REALLY needs to step up his game. Other than those two, the rest of the corps leaves little to be desired (Unless you count Todd Heap).
