Why are the Giants Super Bowl champs? Because they draft so well

The draft is so essential to a team's success that its importance can't be undermined. One reason the Giants are Super Bowl champs is because they've been great in the draft. In this article, I compare the Eagles last four draft classes to the Giants to see where the Eagles went wrong.

wow.........when u break it down like that makes me wanna cry........front office is cheap :(

I loved that article...it puts everything into perspective. Ryan moats over Tuck...ouch. I'll play Dave Spadaro for a second..."We are so deep in those positions the Eagles FO must not have thought that they needed an upgrade or competition at those positions. Banner, Heckert and Reid are the best in the business they have managed this salary cap well and will continue to develop young players through the draft." BULLS"!T they draft like sh.. The last thing, immediate impact players are impossible in both the offensive and defensive schemes. As with quarterbacks, wide receivers need a solid two years to get on top of this complicated scheme. On D, look at how long it took Spikes to become intune with JJ. Baskett and Brown need to become the next Gasperson and Sampy, they tried, but the experiment is not working. Too much to write about.

Steve Smith was a rookie and once he got back from the injury he had a great end of the season. 5 receptions and 50 yards in the Super Bowl (along with a stupid interception given up). 4 receptions, 50 yards against Dallas. What about Dwayne Bowe as rookie: 70 receptions, 995 yards, 5 TDs. I know, generally, rookie WRs don't come in and make an impact, but the Eagles definitely need help there and there are a few players in the draft that can make a huge impact on the Eagles receiver corp this year (Jackson, Sweed, Hardy, Kelly, Doucet, Manningham, Bowman). DeSean Jackson could stretch the field with his speed. Hardy or Sweed could be that great red zone threat with their size. The Eagles need a player like that.

I just hope we get what we need.
