In an odd twist of fate, Washington did their division rival Dallas a favor yesterday by beating New York, paving the way for Dallas to win the NFC East and head to the playoffs. With only two more games left to play, can Tony Romo take his team to the postseason?
Yes, but not without winning both games. Dallas have two tough games left, one against Philadelphia and one against New York. Romo’s first encounter with Philadelphia this season didn’t go so well. He only completed 18 of 35 passes for 203 yards (his second lowest this season), one interception, and only one touchdown. He was sacked four times for a total loss of 21 yards. The Cowboys were blown out 34-7 as a result, their worst loss of the season. It goes without saying that he will have to do better than that in their next game.
Romo’s performance against the Giants in Week 14 was better, but not enough to win. He completed 21 of 31 passes for 321 yards, no interceptions, and four touchdowns. He was sacked...

"Don't ever let the facts spoil a good story" - Mark Twain
Why Mr. Twain originally offered that quote is up for debate, but the 2011 application of it seems to apply to the 2011 Dallas Cowboys story. Here are learned, wise NFL pundits talking each week about the Dallas Cowboys. And they go on and on discussing the inability of the Cowboys to take a season by the scruff...
PFT: Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says Tony Romo is playing so well, he can't imagine missing the playoffs.
Tony Romo was nearly flawless in getting the Dallas Cowboys back on track in the N.F.C. East.
Tony Romo is playing the best football of his career despite the Cowboys' 1-2 December record.
TAMPA, Fla. -- Tony Romo threw for three touchdowns and ran for a fourth score Saturday night, helping the Dallas Cowboys stop a two-game losing streak with a 31-15 victory over the struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He was just trying to see if Romo has anyone willing to challenge him in the way Tom Brady was, but Sanders definitely could have worded his question a bit better. TAMPA, Fla. – The Cowboys played with a great sense of urgency Saturday night.
That was evident when they jumped out to a 28-0 first-half lead en route to a 31-15 win over hapless Tampa Bay.
The win snapped a two-game losing streak and put the 8-6 Cowboys back in first place in the NFC East pending the outcome of the 7-6 New York Giants’ home game against the 4-9 Washington Redskins...
Though I end just about every night in the summer months staring at the ceiling, looking forward to that beautiful moment when all the 1:00 p.m. games kick off simultaneously on NFL opening weekend and appreciate a good Thanksgiving Day slate of games, there's no better week in an NFL season than Week 16.
Every year, regardless of how we got there, seemingly two-thirds of the...
Tony Romo threw a pair of 8-yard touchdown passes to Miles Austin and Dez Bryant, giving the Dallas Cowboys a 14-0 lead through the first quarter Saturday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Cowboys should have spent Saturday evening celebrating. But a win is a win, right?
This was going to be the game where the Cowboys played so flawlessly that I couldn’t get angry. When Dallas took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, I told my young son that Dallas would score 50 tonight.
By the end of the second quarter, I was half-right. Dallas led 28-0 thanks to three Tony...
