A really under-the-radar thing to watch for during tonight’s Patriots-Giants game

No one cares about the long snapper. I mean, no one. Except if they screw up. That was a reality Matt Katula realized. Yet for tonight’s Patriots-Giants game, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to watch the new long snapper — James Dearth — in his first action with the team. The former Jets snapper must get into the mix quickly with punter Zoltan Mesko and kicker Stephen Gostkowski. It’s not a massive change. And usually, you can overlook a long snapper. But if you can’t get a punt or kick off, it’s a massive botch.
