While the New England Patriots are willing to give free exchanges on Aaron Hernandez jerseys to their fans, some are opting to sell theirs on web auctions sites, like eBay, and are actually making quite a profit for it. Take Florida resident John Lamonthe, for example. A Pats fan and Florida Gators alum purchased his Hernandez jersey awhile back, and now wants nothing to do with it, as the former tight end for his favorite team faces murder charges in the death of semipro football player Odin Lloyd. Lamonthe ended up putting his jersey up for auction on the popular web auction site, and was surprised by what he fetched for it. From the Boston Globe: “I thought about giving it to Goodwill,” he said, “but I didn’t think anybody would want it.” So instead, he put it on eBay, the online auction site. “I thought I might get $15 for it,” he said.
