Skip Bayless is like a Kardashian.

Most people know what his game is, but they watch anyway while complaining.  In the interim Bayless gets rich off basically being ESPN’s version of Howard Stern.

I don’t have a problem with it because I see it for what it is.  Apparently so does Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Brett Favre is yesterday’s news in Wisconsin. The guy who makes Rodgers’ skin crawl is — drumroll, please — ESPN commentator Skip Bayless.

Rodgers revealed this during his weekly radio show on 540 ESPN. Jason Wilde, the Packers reporter at ESPNMilwaukee.com and co-host of the show, asked “How do you deal with people who told you that you weren’t good enough coming out of Cal, but now think you’re really good?”

As usual, Rodgers didn’t pull punches with his response.

“I just think it just goes to the point that you can’t take a whole lot of what those people say too personally because they’re shock experts on ESPN and NFL Network. A lot of them are just going for the shock value of what they’re saying, as is typified by that guy on ESPN, I don’t want to even say his name. He works for “First Take.”

“All he does is say things that are so ridiculous just for the shock value. So everybody who was saying stuff about our team this offseason about not getting together for workouts, there hasn’t been a lot of talk about that. The different people who said stuff about whatever player they are talking about over the years, I think sometimes people forget about the human element to our story.” “We take stuff personally at times. We get upset if somebody says something real negative about us, but more than that, our families do, our friends do, and they feel like they need to tell you. So, I think that stuff just reminds you that you can’t take yourself too seriously, and you can’t take the pundits too seriously.”

You can tell Rodgers is still carrying that Brett Favre chip on his shoulder.

If you are an athlete doesn’t matter if it is Skip Bayless, me or anyone in the media you can’t let it get to you. The media has a job to do and some do it fairly while others do it for entertainment.

Either way the best way to shut up a critic is on the field and that is how Rodgers has quieted Bayless.

  • Skip Bayless is not just an idiot and a sideshow geek. He is a punk and if we were in the joint together I would put an apron on him and make him my bitch

Rodgers Becomes Hard Act To Follow

Because Aaron Rodgers has "mastered" the Packers' offense and is playing with uncanny consistency, several passing records are set to fall and he's on pace to be named the league's MVP.

Green Bay Packers dominate Minnesota Vikings

The Green Bay Packers improved to 9-0 Monday night and they did it in dominating fashion.  There isn’t much new to learn from a game in which the Packers cruise to a 45-7 so here are some quick thoughts from the game. Aaron Rodgers is too good.  250 yards, four touchdowns and only seven incompletions.  He is unstoppable this season. Randall Cobb got the Packers scoring off...

Comparing Aaron Rodgers to the greats

Aaron Rodgers is playing quarterback this season at a ridiculously high level. We’ve heard the case made that no quarterback has ever played better. I can’t even disagree, although I remember the exact same things being said about Peyton Manning in ’04 and Tom Brady in ’07. Rodgers’ athletic skill set to throw on the…

Fantasy Dreams 2011 - PJD's Fantasy Football Week 10 Update

I hate to say it, but I have pretty much been riding on the tight buns of Aaron Rodgers in fantasy football this season, and it doesn't bother me one bit. Going in to every week, he is moderately predicted to put up 24 points or so, and every week he blows those predictions harder than his dude roommate. He throws four touchdowns, runs one in, a minimum 300 yards is expected...

Rodgers, Packers Thoroughly Dominate Vikings, 45-7

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for four touchdowns on the way to a 45-7 rout of the Minnesota Vikings.

Rodgers' numbers right on target

To break the NFL completion percentage record set by Drew Brees in 2009, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers simply needs to continue doing what he's doing.

Green Bay Packers 45, Minnesota Vikings 7

The Green Bay Packers destroyed the Vikings last night.  It started early as Randall Cobb returned a punt 80 yards for a TD after the Packers’ D stopped the Vikings on their opening drive.  The Packers didn’t look back.  Aaron Rodgers completed 23 of 30 passes for 250 yards with 4 TD passes and 0 INTs.  He also carried the ball 6 times for 21 yards (3.5 ypc) in this game...
