After suffering an ACL injury, Adrian Peterson was supposed to get back to his old self, instead he found a new ‘self.’ In a 21-14 win over the Chicago Bears Peterson ran wild over the vaunted Bears defense. He had 154 yards rushing on 31 carries giving him 1,600 yards in pursuit of the 2,000 club. Peterson will need 133.3 yards per game over the final three to make it to 2,000. It’s remarkable that we are talking about the same guy whose knee was shredded a year ago, and he keeps getting better. Six players in NFL history have rushed for 2,000 yards in a season:  O.J. Simpson in 1973 (2,003) Eric Dickerson in 1984 (2,105) Barry Sanders in 1997 (2,053) Terrell Davis in 1998 (2,008) Jamal Lewis in 2003 (2,066)  Chris Johnson in 2009 (2,006) var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
