Adrian Peterson's now-former teammate, punter Chris Kluwe, is a noted activist for gay marriage, often speaking out or attending demonstrations that stress equality.
Don't expect Peterson to do the same.
In a recent interview with Sirius/XM NFL Radio, the Vikings' superstar running back said he's "not with" gay marriage.
“To each his own,” Peterson said, via USA Today. “I’m not with it. But I have relatives that are gay. I’m not biased towards them. I still treat them the same. I love ‘em. But again, I’m not with that. That’s not something I believe in. But to each his own.”
Peterson, however, emphasized that his views aren't an indictment of Kluwe, whom he calls a "good friend."
“He was a good friend of mine and a really cool guy,” Peterson said. ”[He's] probably one of the smartest guys I’ve ever been around. [He's] different.”
To each their own, indeed. At least Peterson didn't go all Demario Davis on the airwaves.
