Adrian Peterson has been carrying the Minnesota Vikings on the field all season. But in order to have an impact on the field, Peterson has to find his way to the stadium. On Sunday, the All-Pro running back had a little bit of difficulty getting to Soldier Field for the Vikings divisional game in Chicago, according to NFL.com. Peterson arrived to the stadium at 10:23 a.m., just over an hour and a half before kickoff, after not showing up on the team bus earlier in the morning. The reason for Peterson’s late arrival is unknown, but his means of transportation was apparently a taxi that he hailed from the team’s hotel around 10 a.m, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. He did get into a cab outside team hotel about 10 a.m. RT @espn_nfcnblog: Adrian Peterson did not take team bus to Soldier Field late— Pioneer Press (@VikingsNow) November 25, 2012 Maybe Peterson was getting some extra rest ahead of the pivotal showdown with the Bears. Or maybe he had a prior engagement that kept him getting to the stadium along with his teammates. But it seems his game showed up late, too. Peterson gained just 32 rushing yards on eight carries in a first half that the Vikings managed just three points. The 27-year-old back extended his league lead in rushing yards, as he ended up with 108 on the afternoon. But the production was too late to save the Vikes from 28-10 loss to the Bears. His tardiness didn’t have as much to do with the loss as the Vikings three turnovers, including a fumble by Peterson himself. But if Peterson wants his team to perform better on the field, then maybe he should make sure his “All Day” nickname applies to his play and not his sleep habits. If that was the problem, after all.
