How's that for a title; 'Bad news Adrian Wilson, we're cutting you, but good news: we'll see you in the 'ring of honor.' The 12-year veteran, who played more games for the Arizona Cardinals than any other player, got his walking papers Friday in an expected move. Team President Michael Bidwill said that one day, Adrian will be inducted into the ring of honor at University of Phoenix Stadium. “All of [us] thank Adrian for what he has meant not only to our organization but also to this community,” Bidwill said in a statement. "In every franchise, there is a select group of players whose contributions earn them iconic status and for us, Adrian Wilson will always be one of those players. “He joined us at a key time in our organization’s evolution and helped lead us into a new era.” Later on Wilson thanked fans via instagram: "It's been an honor and a pleasure Cardinals fans. 12 years of heart and dedication and loyalty. 1 day we'll celebrate the #24 together. 24." Wilson, 34, saw a diminished role during the 2012 season, and was due to collect a $1 million roster bonus this month on top of his  $2.5 million 2013 salary. The release will save the Cardinals about $3 million of cap space. var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
