Late Wednesday Jim Harbaugh made some headlines as he announced that Alex Smith was being benched for sophomore Colin Kaepernick. Alex Smith missed Monday’s game against the Chicago Bears due to a concussion, and in turn lost his job. What nobody expected, happened when Kaepernick shined under the bright lights of prime time by throwing for 243 yards and two touchdowns. Now in today’s NFL where throwing for 400 yards a game has become the norm, why is it so impressive he threw for 243 yards? I mean Alex Smith threw for 299 yards and three touchdowns, one of which was the game winning touchdown in the Divisional Round that sent the San Francisco 49ers to the NFC Championship.… Read more
