There was a familiar face in the Patriots locker room this week, a big, burly, grizzled face. Gerard Warren was back.
The 33-year-old defensive tackle, a surprise cut right before the season, was signed earlier this week to bolster the beleaguered line. And Warren’s presence should help hold down the fort against RB Darren McFadden.
Warren was cautious talking about the game in his direct and to-the-point way, saying, “I just look forward to Sunday and whoever the opponent is.” But he did allow how happy he was to return.
“I’m glad to be back,” Warren said. “I’m very glad to be here. No looking back.”
Warren had one tryout while he was unemployed, but he didn’t sign. How did he pass the time and handle being without work for the first time?
