 Shawn Crable looks more like an outside linebacker than he did two years ago when he was drafted in the third round by the Patriots. His 6-5, 245-pound body is much more power-packed, with his weight better distributed around that frame.  He says he better look more the part. ”I had two years off. I had a lot of time to eat, lift and get better. So, hopefully this time, it works,” Crable said prior to taking the field for Kevin Faulk’s charity softball tournament at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton. ”I feel good physcially. I’m still working out, fine-tuning some things. I feel pretty good.” Colleague Ian R. Rapoport had spoken to Crable in a RapSheet item that appeared in March. We got a pretty good idea then that Crable could be a sleeper in the outside linebacker derby. Looking at him tonight, and listening to him, he seems to want the role.   (more…)
