Cowboys linebacker Anthony Spencer is scheduled to become a free agent in March and is expected to be a hot commodity after having a great season in which he led the Cowboys in tackles with 95 stops and also collected a career-high 11 sacks, Rainer Sabin of the Dallas Morning News reports. But according to his agent Jordan Woy Spencer would like to remain in Dallas despite the fact that the Cowboys are switching to a 4-3 scheme under new defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin. The conversion process would likely necessitate Spencer taking on a new role as a defensive end, a position he played in college at Purdue. “He told me, ‘I feel like I can play that position. I feel like I can do a great job at it,’” Woy said. “I talked about it with him. He’d love to stay in Dallas but ultimately it is a business and sometimes that works out and sometimes that doesn’t. He’s prepared for whatever the situation it is. But if he had his first choice it would be to stay in Dallas.” Woy said he plans to talk to the Cowboys in the coming weeks to gauge their interest and potentially lay the groundwork for a new deal. Spencer played last season with an $8.8 million franchise tag. “Now it’s obviously a matter if the [Cowboys] …feel like he’s a great fit,” Woy said. “And if they do we’re really hopeful we’ll be able work a deal out and have him stay there. If that’s not where ultimately their heads are at and what they think, then we’ll have to go out in the marketplace.” Source: The Redzone

Even though Spencer had a great season in 2012, there’s no telling how well he’ll perform...

Cowboys are strapped for cash, need help from Romo

Odds of the Dallas Cowboys signing that key 2013 NFL Free agent that will instantly help them make it over the hump are very slim. If fact, it might not even be possible. The Cowboys are $26 million over the salary cap and have to restructure and release several players in order to just break even. As of December, the Cowboys had $132 million tied up in cap space on 44 players and...

Changes for Garrett and a Tampa flavor

Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Bill Callahan is being elevated to the position of offensive playcaller for the 2013 season. And whether you view that as castrating strip of responsibilities of head coach Jason Garrett or the offering of some help for an overloaded young coach that frees Garrett to be a "walk-around'' head coach really depends on whether you are...

Cowboys Stadium Lap Dance Video: Why the Terrorists Hate Us

I hope we can stop referring to the Dallas Cowboys as “America’s Team.” Because any team that has disgusting white trash like this sitting in their front row, the most expensive seats in the NFL…well it doesn’t reflect very well on the team, the league or our country. And seriously, whatever happened to simply calling out people like this for being classless and disgusting...

Senior Bowl Standouts that could fill Cowboys needs

The 2013 Senior Bowl is in the bag, and it left a lot to be desired when it came to the quarterbacks. This year’s QB class is one of the weakest in recent years, and the play from the QBs didn’t help their cause. So, you can scratch QB off the list of a successor to Romo, this class doesn’t have that player for us. At this point, the Cowboys draft focus will be in the trenches...

Report: Talk Of Jon Gruden Coaching Cowboys Is Ridiculous

Several media outlets have hinted at the coincidence that many of the new faces on the Dallas Cowboys staff are former coaches from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when Jon Gruden was coach.
