Indianapolis Colts newly acquired running back Ahmad Bradshaw started training camp on the PUP list while he continues to recover from surgery he underwent on his right foot in January.
Bradshaw told Kevin Bowen of the Colts official team website that he's a few weeks away from returning to practice. He also told Bowen that given his six years of NFL experience, he "doesn't necessarily need preseason game reps."
While Ahmad Bradshaw has been recovering from foot surgery Vick Ballard has been seeing most of the first team reps at running back. Ballard is fast and explosive, but the Colts see him as more of a change of pace running back rather than one who can carry the workload of a true starting running back like Bradshaw. Together, Bradshaw and Ballard would make for a nice one-two punch in Indy's running game. As a rookie quarterback, Andrew Luck already gave opposing defenses nightmares. If you add a solid rushing attack to his arsenal, the Colts offense could be lethal this season.
