The Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday (via NFL.com) that running back Ahmad Bradshaw, still recovering from offseason surgery on his right foot, will being training camp on the physically unable to perform list.
The team is taking a cautious approach with Bradshaw and his foot problems, but they knew all along the risk he carries. He can come off the PUp at anytime during camp, but if he remains on it as the season starts, he'll have to sit out the first six games.
In his absence from camp, the Colts will turn to Vick Ballard to carry the load.
Dan Hanzus writes: ' The Colts don't begin practicing until Sunday, leaving the remote possibility Bradshaw could come off the PUP list without missing anything. When healthy, Bradshaw is an upgrade over Ballard and a solid fit in the Colts' offense under new offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton. But Bradshaw will have to get on the field first. '
