The first Jets week practice began with seven rather significant players not in attendance, as colleague Ian Rapoport, who checked out the proceedings, reported back from the lower practice field. Naturally, linebacker Jerod Mayo, who sprained the MCL on his left knee during Sunday’s game in Oakland, was not present.
After that, defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth (back), who missed the last two games, can’t seem to get back on the field. He was missing, as was tight end Aaron Hernandez (knee), whose absence Sunday would be significant. Running back Danny Woodhead (ankle), wide receiver Julien Edelman, who was in a walking boot yesterday, defensive lineman Mike Wright (concussion) and offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer (back), also were not out on the field. The Pats did not practice in pads.
