Alex Smith was never a Raider. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback has played the team only twice in eight-plus seasons yet he’s as familiar with the Raiders as any team after spending so much time across the Bay. Smith spent eight tumultuous years with the San Francisco 49ers before being traded to Kansas City in the offseason adding dimensions to this AFC West matchup. Sunday’s game at Arrowhead Stadium is both a pivotal division game and a chance for Smith to play in front of Bay Area fans. “I’m excited for this. I’ve played a lot of football in the Bay Area pretty close to Oakland” Smith said. “I’m familiar with them after being in the area so long. I’m excited about it. I’m pumped.” We all know about Smith’s unceremonious exit that he lost a starting job to young Colin Kaepernick during a Super Bowl run and was deemed expendable enough to ship out of town. Smith has taken the high road in regards to how he was cast off but satisfaction can be gleaned from the Chiefs' 5-0 s

Kansas City Chiefs: Limiting Terrelle Pryor is Paramount

Terrelle Pryor With running back Darren McFadden still listed as questionable by the Raiders and Oakland being uncertain as to whether or not he will play on Sunday, the Chiefs’ greatest worry on defense is quarterback Terrelle Pryor. Raiders Week not what it once was, but thats not a bad thing

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Ah, yes, in the 1990s, Raiders Week used to be special. Billboards all around town used to stir up the rivalry. Raider-Hater parties were nightly occurrences. Oakland Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs: 3 Bold Predictions

On paper this one is not going to be fun for the silver and black. On the field it just might surprise everyone involved. One is a tweener, neither good or bad defines them, but it is clear the effort is there. The team on the...

The Chiefs are 5-0 and sport a defense that even the...

Oakland Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs: Week 6 NFL Pick

Oakland Raiders (2-3) at Kansas City Chiefs (5-0) Before the season, the Raiders were expected to be an all-time bad team. That hasn’t happened, as they are 2-3 right now and credit Reggie McKenzie and Dennis Allen for building a passable team despite over 50 million in dead money on their cap. However, I think they’re a little overrated right now. They’re not a good football...
