Early on in my still-young blogging career, I wrote for SBNation's Big Cat Country. The lead manager there, Alfie Crow, is one of the more opinionated Jaguars writers out there, including print newspapers, Jaguars.com, etc. I often disagree with him, but his recent piece detailing why the Jaguars will likely gear up for Gabbert again in 2013 is dead on. Blaine Gabbert is currently on pace to throw for 3,000+ yards, 18 touchdowns and around 12-13 interceptions, which is about average in terms of NFL standards. Gabbert also looks noticeably better than he did his rookie season, but he was also atrocious as a rookie.  -Alfie Crow I encourage you to follow the link above to Crow's article and give it a thorough read through, but the gist of it is Gabbert is the best option on the table for the Jaguars, and that includes the potential to draft a QB in the draft. After looking at Gabbert's season stats to this point, his performance hasn't been great, but it hasn't been too bad either. One point to remember is that Gabbert is still younger than many rookie quarterbacks, and he has shown some progression from last season to this season. The Jaguars' roster has some gaping holes, but I still don't think the team is as bad as their record would indicate. There's some rebuilding that needs to happen, but this isn't a squad that I think needs completely blown up. Give the offense time, give the defense time, and give the Jaguars' coaches more time. 1-8 isn't time for panic. It's time for rational thought, and that's something I suspect Shahid Khan understands.
