INDIANAPOLIS _ So I’m walking off the NFL Network stage Thursday night with Broncos new defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio, when I hear “Hey Klis!” from a guy standing in a sea of fans attending the ”NFL Experience.”
I look and see Brandon Stokley. The former Broncos slot receiver was briefly with the New York Giants as their slot receiver this season. Then some guy named Victor Cruz emerged. The Giants are here preparing to play in the Super Bowl, and Stokley is waiting in line with the rest of the people so his son Cameron can participate in the “Quarterback Challenge.”
Talk about a reminder how quickly guys go from NFL player to NFL fan. Stokley, who has 339 catches for 4,680 yards and 34 touchdowns in his 13-year career, paid $25 for his NFL Experience ticket and $20 for his son. No one seemed to recognize Stokley as he stood in line with people who would have loved to have his autograph if they only knew it was him.
