The Penalty Flag:
Once upon a time the Miami Dolphins were a good team. Not only were they a good team but a perennial contender with a Hall of Fame Quarterback and receivers with names like Mark Clayton, Mark Duper, Jim Jensen and Nat Moore. Like Crockett & Tubbs those glory days of the Dan Marino Miami era are long gone and Dolphins fans know it’s been a while since their team was even competitive.
Only once in the last eight seasons has Miami had a winning record. This season projects to be no different. In fact many feel that come New Year’s Eve the Dolphins will sit alone in the basement of the AFC East. With a first time head coach, a rookie QB and from what “Hard Knocks” has shown, a shaky roster who could blame anyone for having a dismal outlook for the Fish.
In this new Dolphin era all the eggs lie in the Ryan Tannehill basket. The rookie’s performance this year will set the tone for the franchise for the next few years so why not get the guy some help?
But where can you find good help these days?
Eleven-year veteran Jabar Gaffney was just cut by the New England Patriots.

According to Ben Volin of The Palm Beach Post, the Miami Dolphins are taking calls from teams around the league are that are inquiring about possibly trading for quarterback Matt Moore.
The #Dolphins have received calls about Matt Moore, but I don’t know if they’re leading to any sort of trade right now

Throughout this season, Dolphins fans Vinny Ginardi and super-guest blogger Patrick Dillon will discuss each episode of the HBO series Hard Knocks. The two will exchange their thoughts on each episode and the ins and outs of the 2012 Miami Dolphins. They are hoping this will not be the most entertaining part of the season.

The Miami Dolphins just completed one of their worst preseasons in team history. For only the 3rd time in franchise history, the Dolphins failed to win a preseason game. The crazy thing is, the losses aren’t THAT terrible, but it’s how they Dolphins have looked that is troubling. Last night, in the 1st quarter, the [...]
In what was probably the best cheerleader showdown of the preseason, on August 10th the Dolphins took on the Buccaneers. Which means that the Dolphins cheerleaders and the Bucs cheerleaders were in the same building doing their thing on the same field. That to me is an event.
Boy is it hard to determine which squad is better. The fun however, is in watching them and not...

According to Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post, the Miami Dolphins will hold on to quarterback David Garrard for now.
Source says #Dolphins are keeping David Garrard “for the time being”

Volin also said that the Dolphins worked out Garrard this morning. They clearly want to see how he’s looking after surgery.
The Miami Dolphins, followed by HBO's Hard Knocks cameras everywhere this preseason have had a rough go of it so far. Rookie coach Joe Philbin and his team finished the preseason winless and are set to embark on their season in a tough AFC East with a rookie quarterback, a shaky defense and very few skilled players. Even flying in charters seems to be too much for the team to...
This week’s episode of “Hard Knocks” was a vast improvement over the week before. Even if this season suffers for a lack of big personalities, the series is always able to tease quotes and tidbits out of players that we can use to make fun of them for the rest of the season, if not longer. And so it will be with Ryan Tannehill not knowing how the NFL divisions and conferences...

DAVIE, Fla. -- Karlos Dansby wears a wristband that reads "Confidence." Not that he ever needs to be reminded.

During Tuesday night’s Hard Knocks episode on HBO, it was revealed that Dolphins rookie quarterback<a href=""I wasn't a huge pro fan growing up; I wasn't loyal to any one team," said Tannehill, "so I don't really know the divisions, and even really conferences. I know most of the conferences but some of those, I really have no clue. And...
The buzz surrounding Hard Knocks has dissapated since the dramatic release of Chad Johnson from the Miami Dolphins. On this week's episode though we got a classic Hard Knocks moment showing Dolphins rookie QB Ryan Tannehill channeling his inner Ryan Lochte. Watch as Tannehill tries to vaguely guess which NFL team is in which NFL division, saying the Kansas City Chiefs...
If it was not bad enough that the Dolphins got clipped by the Dallas Cowboys 30-13 in their preseason finale Wednesday night.

The NFL odds look to be in the Cowboys’ favor for their preseason finale against Ryan Tannehill and the Miami Dolphins, but stranger things have happened, especially in exhibition play. Dallas is coming off a 20-19 win last week over the St. Louis Rams, though the score looked much closer than it really was. The Cowboys were actually up 17-3 after the first quarter and 20-6 at...
