Found January 05, 2012 on Bengals Locker:
24-year old QB Andy Dalton would have been the Rookie of the Year in the NFL if it weren’t for the land and air show put on by Cam Newton in Carolina.  But, Dalton led his team to a 9-7 record (56.3%) and the playoffs….which Cam Newton is going to be watching on T.V.  Dalton played in 16 games (all starts) for the Bengals this year and he completed 300 of 516 passes (58.1%) for 3,398 yards with 20 TD passes and 13 INTs (80.4 QB Rating.  He also has carried the ball 37 times for 152 yards (4.1 ypc) with 1 TD run this year.  The Bengals are going to need Andy Dalton to play well if they are going to advance in the playoffs. 28-year old Bruce Gradkowski didn’t play much, but he did help the Bengals beat the Browns in Cleveland in the opening game of the 2011 season.  Gradkowski played in 2 games (0 starts) for the Bengals last year and he completed 8 of 18 passes (44.4%) for 109 yards with 1 TD pass and 1 INT (59.7 QB Rating).  He also carried the ball 3 times for 1 y...

Andy Dalton Misses Practice

Cincinnati Bengals starting quarterback Andy Dalton wasn’t at practice today for what’s being called a intestinal virus. With it being only Wednesday and not an actual injury I wouldn’t be worried at all about him missing Saturday’s game. He’s pretty much just got a case of the *****, or maybe some nausea. @GeoffHobsonCin: #Bengals QB Dalton not in...

Can Dalton lead Bengals to playoff victory?

Mike Florio talks with Bengals beat reporter Joe Reedy about Cincinnati’s playoff chances against the Houston Texans on Saturday behind rookie Andy Dalton.

What some are saying about Bengals’ chances in Houston

• NFL.com’s Pat Kirwan: Texans-Bengals outcome rides on two rookie quarterbacks The edge at quarterback has to go to Dalton, who is also going to be asked to carry much more of the offensive load than Yates. In Week 14, the Bengals settled for four field goals … and lost by one point. Dalton will need to make at least two touchdown passes this time around. It will...

Halftime thoughts: Texans 17, Bengals 10

The Bengals could have gone into halftime tied at 10, but a great play by J.J. Watt of snagging the ball out of the air gave the Texans momentum and the lead at halftime. Offensively, Jay Gruden was doing a nice job of mixing things up on first down with a balance of run and pass (eight pass and six run) which we will see if that continues. Andy Dalton has completed the ball to eight...

Halftime at Reliant Stadium: Texans 17, Bengals 10

A rookie scored his first playoff touchdown, but it wasn’t Bengals QB Andy Dalton or Texans QB T.J. Yates. Nope, it was Houston DE J.J. Watt, who made one of the sickest plays you’ll see by a lineman. Watt’s interception and 29-yard touchdown return with 59 seconds left in the half was the difference after 30 minutes. It’s Texans 17, Bengals 10 from Reliant...
