Robert Griffin III’s injured right knee is probably the most talked about reconstructed knee in the history of sports. It seems as if each week, we have a new prognosis that has very little to do with medical evidence, just opinions. The Washington Redskins PR machine has been in full gear ever since RGIII went down with tears to his ACL and LCL in the team’s playoff game loss to the Seahawks. From the get-go, they have continuosly reported that they expect their superstar QB to be ready for Week 1 of the 2013 NFL season, though they have never gave a guarantee. Dr James Andrews, who performed the surgery, has gone as far as calling RGIII ‘super-human’, and now we have head coach Mike Shanahan saying that his QB will set a record for recovery from this type of injury: Via ProFootballTalk: “He’s over at the facility, rehabbing all of the time. He’ll set a record for coming back because that’s how hard he works,” Shanahan said. That’s pretty much along the same lines as Andrews, who said that RGIII’s desire to recover and put in the work is greater than most players coming off the same injury. [...]

Push to change the Washington Redskins name continues, again

I am not a fan of the Washington Redskins or owner Daniel Snyder, but I have to applaud his resolve. For several years now, the Redskins franchise has been under attack by groups demanding that the club change the team name. It now appears that the politically correct police have come back for another round while assailing Snyder and forcing him to change the name of the team, he...

Should the Redskins Kick the Tires on Charles Woodson?

Seeing as Charles Woodson has no takers right now, and with the thought that he still has a few years left in the tank, should the Redskins kick the tires on him and put him at free safety? Woodson hasn’t garnered much attention in free agency, which to me is surprising. Maybe Woodson’s asking price is too much but that hasn’t been reported. “For the right price,” the Redskins...
