The first place Arizona Cardinals. It has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

Let's take a look at Arizona's report card based on their 27-6 thumping of the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday at University of Phoenix Stadium:

Offense

Grade: B +

Finally, the Red Birds showed a semblance of a running game. Ryan Williams had his best game as a pro, pacing the Cardinals with 83 yards on the ground on just 13 carries (a 6.4 average). Kevin Kolb enjoyed his best game as a Cardinal, throwing for 222 yards and two touchdowns. His QB rating was 127.4. For the second week in a row, he did not throw an interception. When John Skelton gets totally healthy, he might not get his starting job back – not if Kolb keeps playing like this. Larry Fitzgerald was superb, following up his stinker against New England with an excellent nine reception, 114-yard, 1 TD performance against a very good Eagles defense. Andre Roberts chipped in with 55 yards receiving and rookie Michael Floyd caught his first scoring pass, an eight-yard reception.

Defense

Grade: A +

This unit can play. The Cardinals are now one of the best defenses in the entire league, allowing just 13.3 PPG. They constantly harassed Michael Vick, sacking him five times, including two by linebacker Daryl Washington. Kerry Rhodes' sack of Vick on the last play of the second quarter led to James Sanders' 93-yard fumble return for a touchdown which gave Arizona a 24-0 halftime lead. The Cardinals limited LeSean McCoy to just 78 yards from scrimmage and no scores. They also did not allow speedster DeSean Jackson (three catches, 43 yards) to burn them for any big plays. The Cardinals recovered three fumbles in all. Arizona also limited a high-powered Philadelphia offense to 308 total yards. What an impressive performance.

Special Teams

Grade: A

Once again, the Cardinals had a very solid outing. Jay Feely connected on both of his field goal attempts, including one from 47 yards. Punter Dave Zastudil was excellent again, averaging 47.2 yards per punt, including two inside the 20 and one touchback. The kickoff and punt coverage teams performed well. Patrick Peterson returned a punt for 17 yards. Cardinals fans are still waiting for his first punt return TD of the season. It will come.
