As was expected Ben Roethlisberger and Cortez Allen will both be starting on Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. Roethlisberger missed the last two games and Allen is moving up in the depth chart due to an injury to starting corner back Ike Taylor. Allen replaced Ike Taylor early in the Steelers 23-20 victory over the Ravens. Taylor has a small fracture in his ankle and is expected to miss 2-6 weeks and while he is out Allen will take over. Keenan Lewis will remain in his spot and Curtis Brown, who was drafted along with Allen last year, will take Allen’s spot. Cortez Allen was considered a reach in the fourth round of the 2011 draft. Allen played college football at the Citadel and was expected to be a project player that wouldn’t see NFL action for a year or two. However, Allen was a quick learner and saw some defensive snaps as a rookie.
