The Atlanta Falcons released running back Michael Turner, cornerback Dunta Robinson and defensive end John Abraham on Friday, ESPN’s Adam Shefter reported Friday.  The team later confirmed the news on Twitter. After six seasons in Houston (2004-09), Dunta Robinson, 30, joined the Falcons in 2010 and though the former first round pick (No. 10 overall out of South Carolina) was a reliable tackler and decent cover corner—racking up a total of 184 tackles with four interceptions, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble in three seasons—he failed to live up to his huge six-year, $57 million contract. Robinson, who had the shortest stint with the Falcons among the three veterans, was scheduled to make an $8 million base salary in 2013.  His departure gives the team more room to try to re-sign Brent Grimes and safety William Moore.
