Eagles Central:
Former NFL general manager Michael Lombardi analyzed the 2005 NFL draft and redid the selections based off the talent the player has shown in the last six seasons.
Eagles defensive end Trent Cole would have been the sixth pick of the first round. In reality, Cole was selected with the tenth pick–of the fifth round. Cole was selected one player after former Detroit Lions Dan Orlovsky, who performed this incredible feat in a 2008 game.
In his five seasons, Cole has 57 sacks, the third most in Eagles history. He has been named to two Pro Bowls and has been selected to three USA Today All-Joe teams.
The real number six pick in the 2005 draft was Tennessee Titans cornerback Pacman Jones, who was suspended for the entire 2007 season and has been the poster child for off-the-field problems among NFL players.
