The bad contracts that Jaguars GM Gene Smith has handed out are adding up. Aaron Kampman and Clint Session didn't pan out — will Laurent Robinson and Aaron Ross be the latest to fail? Jacksonville isn’t the kind of team to hand out megadeals to superstars, but one has to wonder if the money Smith spent on these contracts would have been better spent on one megadeal for a full-fledged superstar with the ability to impact the outcome of games.

Heading into the bye week, the Jaguars now sit at 1-4, and it would suddenly take a small miracle for the team to claw its way back into the playoff discussion. At this point...

Bear Breakdown: Analyzing the Jaguars' Defense for Week Five

In 2011, the Jacksonville Jaguars quietly posted the league's sixth-best total defense, allowing only 313 yards per game.  Fast forward a year later and a Jaguars defense that is virtually the same on paper as last year has the 26th-best defense in the league, giving up over 400 yards per game. The major bright spot for the Jaguars on defense is defensive end Jeremy Mincey...

If the Jaguars can't pressure Jay Cutler, they can't pressure anyone

This Sunday's matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Jacksonville Jaguars is an interesting game. Both teams sport stellar defenses, although the Bears certainly have the advantage on that side of the ball, and both teams tend to struggle moving the ball on offense. Again, the Bears have the advantage on offense to, however. The Jaguars sit at 1-3 and looking for...

Michael Spurlock is a good signing

Although nothing is official yet, Laurent Robinson probably won't play against the Bears this weekend, creating a need for a wide receiver. To fill that gap, the Jaguars have added Michael Spurlock. Spurlock is a good signing, not because of his receiving prowess, but because he is a solid special teams player. It's unclear whether Spurlock will stick with Jacksonville...
