Jay Cutler continues to play at a high level, but the Chicago Bears' offense continues it's struggle to put points up on the board.  The Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall show combined for another 10 receptions for 167 yards but the Bears only scored 17 points.   This seems to be the weekly theme that has now developed, the Bears can rack up yards and receptions between Marshall and Cutler but struggle to get points on the board.  If the defense doesn't force a turnover to give the offense near perfect field position to work with, this offense doesn't put up a lot of points.   The offense scored 28 points last week against the Vikings, but received 24 yards in penalty yardage from the Vikings on one of their touchdown drives.   The offense drove for 94 yards against the Seahawks for a touchdown, but were helped out by 20 yards in penalties from the Seahawks.  The offense is playing better but it will have to put up points against these strong defenses down the stretch.   With the offense failing to put up points today, the defense finally succumbed to having to be the force that carries this team.  The Bears gave up a 94 yard drive for a go-ahead touchdown, none of those yards came from defensive penalties.   The defense also allowed the Sehawks to convert of 8 of 15 third down conversions for a strong 53-percent conversion percentage.  In total the defense allowed 459 yards of total offense and 24 points.   They were unable to stop the Seahawks rushing attack nor slow down Russell Wilson who time and again broke contain and gained big yards for key first downs in the game.   In this game the Bears needed their offense to carry them the most, and they failed to get the job done.  If the offense scores the 28 points of last week they win this game. Instead the Bears are left to wonder where they fit into the playoff picture during the 2012 season.
