Found November 15, 2012 on Midway Illustrated:
Over the last two years no player on the Chicago Bears roster has come under more fire than left tackle J'Marcus Webb.  Webb has been a constant target of criticism as both a starting right tackle and a left tackle in his first two years in the NFL.  Heading into Webb's third year there was a basic assumption, for the Bears' offense to improve Webb's play would have to improve.   Perhaps no player has faced the same level of criticism and irate reaction from Bears fans and media talking heads alike than Webb.  Gabe Carimi is performing at a level just as bad as Webb was in his first few games as a starter, and yet Carimi isn't as berated.  In fact Carimi's stature as a first round draft pick seems to lower to the overall expectations and criticism he's faced from the fans.  Most fans casually pass off Carimi's struggles as he's a young player that was injured last year and is not quite healthy this year.  Where as Webb was afforded no s...

Can the Chicago Bears win without Jay Cutler?

It’s déjà vu all over again for Chicago Bears fans in 2012.  The Chicago Bears went on a long winning streak which had people talking about them as a top team in the NFL, just like last season.  Now Jay Cutler is hurt, just like last season.  The question now is whether or not Cutler will miss extended time, and how Jason Campbell will perform in his absence. It could be seen...

Bears Injury Report: Jay Cutler, Alshon Jeffery

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was unable to practice once again yesterday, casting doubt on his status for Monday night’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, while wide receiver Alshon Jeffery was limited at practice and could return from a hand injury. Cutler continues to recover from a concussion he sustained last weekend against the Houston Texans after being hit...

Cutler out, Campbell to start at San Francisco

Jason Campbell will start for the Bears in Monday's game at San Francisco, NFL Network reported Friday. Campbell, who signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal to back up Jay Cutler, has 70 career starts. Teammates said Thursday the offense wouldn't change much if Cutler was forced to miss his first game this season with a concussion. That's a far cry from the 2011...

Bears kicker Gould rips Soldier Field

Chicago Bears kicker Robbie Gould ripped the surface at Soldier Field and then apologized for it. Gould blasted the field on Wednesday, saying he might have to think about re-signing with Chicago when his contract expires after next season. He told reporters he hopes to remain with the Bears but isn't sure he wants ''to deal with that as I get older as a kicker.'...

Urlacher: I'd still lie about concussion

Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher still says he would lie to cover up a concussion. With quarterback Jay Cutler recovering from a concussion, the Bears' defensive star wasn't backing off comments he made to HBO earlier this year. He responded ''yeah'' when asked if he would try to cover up such an injury. He said he's not sure ''how you...

Urlacher says again he'd lie about concussion

They are loved by many, hated by some, but respected by all. Fans show up in droves to support the Bears, free agents love coming to Chicago and the team remains one of the most feared...

Backup Plan: Bears Bring Back McCown With Cutler Likely Out

With Chicago Bears’ QB Jay Cutler likely doubtful for Monday night’s matchup against the San Francisco 49ers the Bears made sure they had an insurance policy. They announced today the signing veteran QB Josh McCown to a one-year deal. McCown spent three games with the team after the Caleb Hanie experiment in 2011. McCown who started two games a year ago completed 35 of 55...

NFL's focus protocol, not safety

Jay Cutler suffered a brain injury and stayed in the game, getting hit in the head again on the very next play. Tim Dobbins was ruled by officials to have cheap-shotted Cutler with a helmet-to-helmet blow, and stayed in the game. Can we try to stay focused on what matters here? It won't be easy, because Roger Goodell and the NFL are working a little magic trick, using smoke...

Chicago Bears: Week 11 NFL Power Rankings (#2)

Last week: 1 (-1) Record: 7-2 It’s a shame Cutler had to get hurt. I was looking at the Houston and San Francisco games as two games that would valid a Chicago team that had been playing incredible up until that point. With Cutler missing most of the Houston game and probably all of the San Francisco game, we still don’t have a great read on this team. I still say I wouldn...

Jay Culter has not been cleared to practice

It is looking doubtful that the Chicago Bears will have Jay Culter for Monday nights game against the San Francisco 49ers. With Culter out the first-team reps will be taken by backup Jason Campbell. Culter left Sunday’s game against Houston with a concussion after a helmet to helmet hit by Texans linebacker Tim Dobbins. RELATED: Tim Dobbins fined $30,000 for hit on Culter. Cutler...
