Carmichael was named offensive coordinator of the Saints in 2009, replacing Doug Marrone who left to become the head coach at Syracuse. Saints head coach Sean Payton calls offensive plays. But Payton was suspended for the 2012 season, and Carmichael handled that duty. The Saints offense ranked 2nd in the NFL, No. 1 through the air. Source: Chicago Sun Times

Jonathan Vilma rips anonymous Saints player for calling out Steve Spagnuolo: ‘We’re not the Jets’

The New Orleans Saints had one of the worst defenses in the NFL this season, which of course reflects poorly on defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. It was a hectic year in New Orleans between the bounty scandal and the suspension of head coach Sean Payton, so it’s tough to judge anyone based on the past 10 months. At least one Saints player feels as though Spagnuolo is to blame...

NFL Rumors: New Orleans Saints Players Trying To Push Steve Spagnuolo Out?

The 2012 NFL season will not be one in which the New Orleans Saints will wish to remember. Take away the losing record and failure to make the playoffs, coupled with all of the player and coaching and executive suspensions, and this past season is one to forget in The Big Easy. Unfortunately, it appears as if the damage control is nowhere near complete for Sean Payton and the Saints...

Saints Nation: Should Steve Spagnuolo Be Fired?

A nuclear bomb was dropped on Steve Spagnuolo and the Saints' coaching staff late last night while most of us were sleeping. Larry Holder of the Times-Picayune, citing an anonymous player of the Saints, gave the player's opinion that Spagnuolo should be fired immediately. What bothers me the most about these quotes is, well, pretty much all of it. Where to even start? Everyone...

We can remember when Rex Ryan called out the entire NFL to beat the New England Patriots. Now, the worst defense in the history of the football, called out the Jets. Jonathan Vilma, a former Jet himself, blasted reporter Larry Holder of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, who quoted an anonymous source that they should fire defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. Obviously ticked...

In the past year alone, an anonymous Dolphins player ripped Chad Johnson on his way out the door and an anonymous rival GM ripped Ndamukong Suh saying he belonged on the “All-Hype team”. And now an anonymous Saints player decided to join in the act by anonymously ripping first year defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo...

Syracuse’s 4 Biggest Questions Surrounding Doug Marrone’s NFL Interest

There are two unfortunate dynamics surrounding the NFL’s coaching searches. First and foremost, at least three teams are going to interview Doug Marrone for their vacancies. Secondly, even John Clayton mispronounced it “Marrone-ey” last night on SportsCenter. Twice. Is this what Orange Nation has to suffer through these next two weeks? Looks like Doug will get looks from Buffalo...

Browns Have Syracuse HC Doug Marrone & Patriots OC Josh McDaniels As Backup Options?

Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports tweets that he’s ”hearing” that the Browns could look to target Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone and Patriots OC Josh McDaniels if they end up missing out on Oregon head coach Chip Kelly in the coming days. Browns are reportedly prepared to make Kelly an “offer he can’t refuse,” so it’s say to suggest that they have a very good shot...
