It’s cool to have swagger, but it’s bad to be arrogant. The Chicago Bears got their hats handed to them Monday night when San Francisco backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick actually had the nerve to come and play. With Chicago playing without their starting QB Jay Cutler, one would think the defense would be prepared to step up and help their offense. Well, common sense isn’t so common, and reports are that the Bears defense was surprised when Kaepernick actually went after them, not just managing the game. The vaunted Bears defense was embarrassed and terribly unprepared. Some players anonymously admitted they didn’t take Kaepernick seriously. One veteran said. “That’s a different team than I’ve been watching.” When asked which one, he replied “Both", according to John Mullin of csnchicago.com.. Another called it a wakeup call and the Bears defense expected Kaepernick to “throw a couple to us.” Kaepernick had a QB rating of 133.1, while going 16/23 for 243 yards and 2 touchdowns in his first career start.
