New Orleans Saints tight end Benjamin Watson says the team and fellow teammate Jimmy Graham both know its just business and will move on accordingly after an arbitrator's ruling went against Graham, labeling him a tight end for franchise tag money purposes. “I’m very confident that it’ll be resolved the right way and guys can move forward,” Watson said, via ESPN's Mike Triplett. “Obviously it’s always tough when you go through litigation with somebody, and it can probably get heated. And I’m sure there are emotions on both sides. But that is the business side of the game. “And it’s unfortunate that it came to that and that it was so public. But I really think -- I know, I don’t think -- I know that Jimmy loves New Orleans and I know that he loves our team and the organization and he loves playing here. And we love him, everybody wants him here, coaches included. So when it comes down to contract situations, that’s just a necessary evil ... not even evil, but just a necess...

What to expect from New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson in 2014

Much has been said about Khiry Robinson this offseason. He was on NFL.com’s Top 25 list in June for players to prepared to have a breakout season in 2014 – coming in at number 19 (Note: Saints second-year safety Kenny Vaccaro came in at number 2). He is the talk of fantasy football prognosticators. At the Saints’ mini camp in June, I was able to look Khiry up and down for the...

Saints Rumors: Archie Manning says team is 'as strong as I've ever seen'

Archie Manning is a die hard Saints fan. Even through his son's [Peyton Manning] loss to New Orleans in the Super Bowl in 2009, Archie has held true to his team. He quarterbacked for them for a decade and has since been loyal. He's seen it all, but he reportedly believes that this year's pre-determined roster is the best he's ever seen.#160553785 / gettyimages.comAfter...

Jimmy Graham: a Player Profile

This one was a no-brainer. Does anyone who watches the NFL believe Jimmy Graham does not make a huge difference for the New Orleans Saints? I didn’t think so. Here it is; Jimmy Graham: a player profile. I wrote previously that I do not always agree with the ‘NFL Top 100 Players,’ and I stick to my opinions and why. However, both Jimmy Graham and his quarterback, Drew Brees...

Graham’s appeal deadline is coming, quickly

Now that a certain basketball player has decided to make another decision, decisively, all eyes normally watching the NFL can turn to New Orleans. The Saints and tight end Jimmy Graham must reach a long-term deal by Tuesday, July 15. If they don’t, the Saints and Graham can thereafter sign only a one-year deal. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the discussions have...

Watson on Graham standoff: The 'business'

Tight end Benjamin Watson is confident there won’t be any lingering animosity between teammate Jimmy Graham and the New Orleans Saints once they finally get their contract negotiations resolved. Watson, who visited ESPN’s campus in Bristol on Friday to serve as a guest analyst on a variety of programs, admitted Graham’s negotiations have been more public than most because...

Top 101 All Time Saints Players, 20-29

As we wait impatiently for Jimmy Graham to sign on the dotted line, we can at least celebrate that even if he never plays for the Saints again he’s already at #20 on my all time list. After this run of 10 players we’ll be left with only the top 19 and this exercise will mercifully come to a close. The end is nigh. 29. WR Wes Chandler (1978-1981)   Chandler made a big mark during...

Top 101 All Time Saints Players, 30-39

Here’s the next installment with a fresh list of elite players in Saints history. I have a feeling some of you may argue that some of these should be lower, but that’s the beauty of a list purely compiled by me (evil laughs). 39. DE/DT Jim Wilks (1981-1993) Like Frank Warren is omission from a Pro Bowl berth is inexcusable, though he was elected as an alternate. He’s 9th in...

Carolina Panthers fall short in comparison to the New Orleans Saints

Next up on my looks on regular season opponents of the Saints focuses on the defending NFC South champions – the Carolina Panthers. In this piece, I intend to grade (out of 5) the positional units of the Panthers to give you a better idea of the opponent. It’s important to note that this isn’t a preview, as many things can change between now and gameday.  Also, the grades...

Forget the Cavs… LeBron is joining the Saints!!!

The NFL won its fight with Jimmy Graham over whether the position he plays is wide receiver of tight end and he hasn’t signed yet. That means until training camp starts there is nothing of interest for us to really write on; we have engaged in hyperbole, theorized over who will and will not succeed, scouted the schedule for the year, and Andrew (bless his heart) is even ranking...
