The Cincinnati Bengals placed cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones on the physically unable to perform list on Saturday.
The team also placed tight end Bo Scaife on injured reserve, thereby ending his season.
Jones is recuperating from a pair of surgeries to repair a herniated disk in his neck. He will not be eligible to return to the team until after the Bengals' Week 7 bye.
In the second season of a two-year deal with the Bengals, Jones said doctors told him he was healed.
The neck injury limited Jones to five games with Cincinnati last season.
Signed to a two-year deal last month, Scaife spent his first six seasons with the Tennessee Titans.
The 30-year-old caught 251 passes for 2,382 yards and 12 touchdowns. He had 36 catches for 318 yards and four scores last season.
