After injuring his foot in Sunday’s Hall of Fame game against the Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals running back Brian Leonard has a wide range of how much time he could miss. He left in the second quarter after spraining his ankle, but the injury seemed minor at the time. According to Bengals beat writer Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer, Leonard’s foot could keep him out 4-6 weeks or possibly the entire season—depending how significant the injury is. If Leonard does miss the entire season, Cincinnati will most likely have to bring in another running back considering Cedric Benson and Bernard Scott would be the only ones on the roster. Leonard may have been a third-string running back, but he played key role in the Bengals’ offense last season. He established himself as the go-to guy on third down situations and was a significant running back that could block well.
