Bengals left tackle Andrew Whitworth has agreed to a two-year contract extension which will keep him here through 2015. The sixth-year player has emerged as one of the teams leaders and also as one of the top tackles in the AFC. He gave up only two sacks last year, which both happened in the final minute of losses to Atlanta and Indianapolis. Whitworth signed an extension in 2008 and according to league contract files, he has a base salary of $3.69 million for this season. The two sides started talking about an extension shortly after the lockout ended and during training camp. Said Whitworth of the deal: You want to extend the guys who you know are committed to the program. Its good to see the hard work you put in and to be able to get it to work for both sides.
