New Orleans Saints tight end Benjamin Watson spent no time dancing around the obvious when asked about the prospects of playing against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday in place of injured Jimmy Graham. "We can't replace Jimmy" Watson said. "Jimmy does some things that only he can do but we will be able to come in and do whatever is asked of us to make sure the offense runs smooth." Not many people would argue with Watson. The likelihood of Graham playing against Buffalo decreased Wednesday as he missed practice with a foot injury which means the Saints could be without one of the league's most potent offensive weapons. Saints coach Sean Payton didn't go into many details about Graham's injury simply saying "Each day we'll just take a peek on how he's progressing and be smart." Graham led the NFL in receiving yards even after Week 6 when he caught no passes in the loss to New England. The bye week allowed other pass catchers to chase down and surpass Graham who's now sixth in receiving yards with 593. Graham trails league leader Torrey Smith of the Ravens by only 36 yards which is a testament to how impressive Graham has played this season. Graham has been undoubtedly the most important piece to the Saints' offensive puzzle and quarterback Drew Brees has been reliant upon him more than anyone else in the passing game. The wide receivers will be looked upon for an increased role if Graham misses the Bills game and maybe beyond. But Brees' recent connection with Watson may help the Saints temporarily overcome a potential loss of Graham. As the Patriots blanketed Graham during the 30-27 loss at Gillette Stadium Watson picked up some of the slack with three catches for 61 yards along with a few key blocks to help propel the Saints to 131 rushing yards. Watson is no stranger to receiving starter-type snaps; he's started 88 games in his career including 14 contests in 2012 with Cleveland. Watson said he's ready for increased reps if Graham can't play Sunday.
