Best OT the Bills ever drafted: 1976 – No. 70 Joe Devlin As I began my research looking back through the history of the Buffalo Bills draft, I started to struggle. Since 2000, the Bills have drafted less than 15 offensive tackles. I also have not spent a lot of time researching this position on the field. I will have to say, this search has taught me quite a bit. From 1976 to 1989 Joe Devlin played OT for the Buffalo Bills. Through the search that I conducted, no other OT played or started more for the Buffalo Bills than Devlin. 179 games started for the Bills out of 191 games played. Not knowing a lot about this position, I do know that over the past ten seasons, I have seen a lot of new names protecting our Quarterback. If Devlin played thirteen seasons for the Bills and started 94% of the games he played, he must have been a special player to watch. The one name that stuck out for me as I scrolled down the draft list was Chris Hairston. He has been with the team since 2011 and in my opinion a key player to this Bills offensive unit.
